I am still wondering what is going on with the O-Line. I could see us going into the season the same way we ended it last season, but more likely with the deal we gave Kosier, LA is on his way out. Maybe we'll try to work a draft day trade involving him or something. As for right tackle, I have to wonder if we're going to go into the season with what we have again. I believe we should be getting a veteran who can definitely play the position, at least for 2 years until Petitti/Rogers/Columbo or whoever is really ready for it. I think Petitti should be the backup RT this season and just get stronger for 2 years, and then maybe he'll be NFL ready.

The lack of movement for the O-line in FA is confusing to me too. Especially if the Cowboys have agreed to terms with TO ... if it's true they should know what the rest of the cap looks like and start signing other players as well ....

I would have no problem with a solid tackle in draft.

I should amend my comments.
We get Runyan if the plan is to draft an OT.

If we go LB......then we may stick with Pettiti.
Or maybe even....

I wouldn't mind look at Ashworth. I think he would be cheaper than Runyon, plus I think he can play both RT and LT.

IF we don't get a RT in FA, or if Kosier is definitely playing Guard, I guess either we go with one of the guys we have or the Draft.

A lot of mocks have us drafting Justice at OT. But I still hope we go OLB in the 1st and complete our LB group. I'd prefer to take a OT in the 2nd or 3rd and groom him for 1-2 years.

(And I'm also one of those who doesn't think Allen can play RT for us in 2006.)

OL is an area of critical need.

- The first day of the draft could add two more offensive linemen to the team.
- We'll grab at least one other FA OL.
- Kosier wll fill in if Larry is cut and/or Rivera continues to slide.
- We will improve from within. I know this is unpopular but popularity never won anything.
  • Rivera: He may improve or may slide; my gut says he comes back a lot better than last year..
  • Johnson: He will be more experienced and is getting stronger.
  • Gurode: This would his second consecutive year playing center full time.
  • Pettiti: I know he is really unpopular with fans right now but it is simple truth that another full offseason and a year of experience will make him a better player.
  • Peterman: A legit 3rd rounder who should get his shot.
  • Tucker: A solid backup, but at least we know what he is.
  • Colombo and Rogers: Who knows? But both were high draft picks who've been plagued with injuries-- maybe one or both breaks that rut and realizes her potential.

We better do something here. If we end up with the same O-Problems we had last year it would be a travesty.

I am still looking at RT and Center.
