On the field, yes.

The quarterback position is the hardest position in sports. The quarterback is usually blamed for losses and given credit for wins.

To be the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, the starting quarterback, it is the highest sports position in the world. You have to have balls of stone to play quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and succeed.

Not sure how it could be measured but I'm guessing goalie or striker for Manchester United or Real Madrid or Barca might be the answer. That sport is more popular worldwide and those teams seem at the top of sports with the mass appeal.

If you're the franchise guy, yes. I don't think the likes of Weeden, Cassell, or Moore ever really had that kind of pressure put on them. Maybe more than they would have had elsewhere but nowhere near what they would have as the franchise QB.
