Why must people seduce themselves into thinking we'll win next Saturday? It's the equivalent of repeatedly sticking your hand on a hot stove. We couldn't beat the worst team in football at home, yet somehow we're gonna beat a much better team on the road during a short week. If ever there was a time for low expectations, it's today. Enough of the false confidence.

So, bbgun, have you submitted your resume to ESPN?

It is too bad we don't all have your crystal ball. I hope you're placing every penny of your wealth on Seattle, what with your knowledge of the outcome and all.

This is a day for anger, not false hope. Are you done pumping up Ware's three sacks?

What's it going to be then, eh?

It's not false confidence to state we have a chance because we do.

I don't think we do personally, but I won't fault someone for being hopeful.

Afterall, we all cannot jump off the bridge.

No day should be a day for anger! If you think so...then you need some Anger Management Counseling...

I've got my own personal/adjustable bungee cord. Got it for $19.98 on ebay.

Hey, Owens and Glenn (and Pat and Jason) will win it for us...you think those third team corners can hold those weapons? :D

Personally I think the best possible scenario involves a team without glaring weaknesses that are being exploited.

Yeah, I like that scenario too!!!

Some of us don't get irrational when we lose. Yesterday's game has no bearing on Saturday's game.

There's hope and there's false hope based on recent history. It's like losing your wife to cancer and hitting the dating scene the very next day. A little too soon, wouldn't you say?

Ah yes, the old "We're 0-0 and anything can happen" chestnut. Classic. Like you, I hope we win, but spare me the chest-beating posts brimming with optimism.

It's perfectly apt. We lost yesterday in devastating fashion, and today too many people are willing to forgive, forget, and move on. Not having it.

I see people trying to move on, yes, but a lot more not even close to forgiving, much less forgetting.

Better yet, I see people trying to puzzle put how we could actually match up next week.

Btw, anyone have a sense of how the Hawks did vs the last 3-4 team they faced? Which I assume was SD a few week back?

Where are these chest-beating posts? If you don't like optimistic threads, don't click on them. I've never understood why you declared yourself the topic police.

So far you've said we can't discuss (1) the possibility of winning a playoff game and (2) individual team achievements on the season.

No, it's a horrible analogy.

I agree...bbgun is to literal...and his analogy was bad.

How about an analogy that if you just got turned down by some hot chick (like Romo did) and then lose a game?

:eek::
