I don't want to see anyone's personal opinions on this topic. What do the advanced stats say. I'm not much of an advanced stats nerd, so if somebody could please provide me w the stats that would be great. I'm not looking for stats that favor one side in particular, just get all the advanced stats and let's look at them objectively..

Again, keep your personal opinions out of this thread, please

I think QBR wise Dak wins.

I think EPA and CPOE wise Watson wins

They’re both close to each other though.

I dont know the exact numbers. But that’s what RJ choppy said on 105.3 earlier today.

I dont think I've ever seen a QB take such a beating and still deliver, Watson is impressive in that respect. Don't know how he'd do with a full compliment of talent around him. It's hard to compare the two, they're playing in totally different situations.

They are very close. Dak probably has the slight slight edge but they’re about equal. It’s funny because Watson is viewed as one of the best qb’s in football, people on here think Dak is average but reality is they are both very good. It’s also interesting that Texans O line was actually better at pass blocking than Cowboys. Most of Watson’s sacks are his own fault

if you want stats just do a search dak vs watson stats and see what comes up o_O
but watson was better his second year than dak
watson will take off and run more and is more apt to throw mid range and deep than dak is
and he may be more accurate on those
watson had a very good wr that he just lost cause they traded him away watkins i think
i would say watkins has been a little better than dak so far but losing watkins may change that

I'm not trying to call you out, but do you have a stay or graph to back up that sacks comment? Did I miss it? I've watched a ton of Texans games and their OL was a turnstile. If the Cowboys really gave up lore pressure and sacks, I'd be shocked. Again, I'm not saying you're wrong, just looking for hard data.

Also, on almost every list I've seen recently by major media at least, Dak is usually ahead of Watson. Maybe around here people think Watson is better (I prefer him) but nationally I don't think it falls that way.

One of the charts on the x axis showed pass block win rate % and Watson’s o line was actually one of the best in the league. Heres also a better visual showing that. So it’s not necessarily sacks because sacks is actually more of a QB stats. This stat shows Texans o line wins in pass protection at a top 10 level in the league, but conversely Watson gets sacked a lot. Meaning a lot of his sacks are his fault not the o line.

I agree but I think you meant to say losing Andre Hopkins would hurt Watkins (and you'd be right.) ;)

There is only a handful of trolls that think Dak is average. Its common sense that he is well above that.

What makes Watson so good is his ability to improvise, use his legs, move around and make a huge play down the field. If you are looking for a guy to sit in the pocket and run your timing offense, he is not the guy for you. And he holds onto the ball way too long.

LOL...……...sacks is NOT a QB stat.

How can you say a qb holds the ball way too long and then flow that up w sacks isn't a qb stat?

You think the OL is supposed to block forever?

There are interceptions that are definitely the fault of the receiver and not the QB. So are you going to tell me that interceptions are a WR stat?

Sacks can be a QBs fault for sure or even the receivers' fault but most of the time they fall on poor protection.

Watson is the type of qb who will do everything he can to keep the play alive with his legs to make a play downfield. Makes for some great escapes but also makes for some additional sacks. He doesn't have the purest throwing motion so he wouldn't be called a precision passer by any stretch.
