I agree that they are trying to turn him into Romo. Limit him to handoffs, screens and quick slant so that he can maintain his status as ultimate ball control king

Nice sarcasm. But it got us to 13-3 last year didn't it, and you know better then that....

Tom Brady is 3-7 at Mile High. The Broncos are 20-1 in September there.

Everybody relax.

I do think the Wentz versus Dak debate is getting interesting though. And the Broncos were ranked 30th in the league against the run last year. Gotta throw them out of that front.

It'll sort out soon. The book is out on Dak, who has been poor in both games so far.

He has a great attitude, however, and I trust he'll figure it out.

Why is there a Wentz v Dak debate? The former is the 2nd overall pick. He should be better. If he isn't that is on him.

He's doing it in every thread. Someone needs to pat him on his head. He needs attention.
Can I pat him on the head...

Amanda Bynes... what could have been.
I've been there. I know The Great Suck of Hollywood.
Why do you think I live in El Paso?

Edit: True story- the day I was finally leaving LA for the final time, I ran into her at a red light. I was in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, hauling my trailer of insignificance and she was in a Maserati. We... interacted. Not that way, you hooligans! But... I used to be pretty good looking. Damn middle age!

Yesterday (in a very hostile crowd) Dak looked like he was trying to be a Romo or a P Manning with all the formations and audibles he was handing out. He looked overwhelmed with his adjustments as opposed to last year when moved around the pocket and found plays to make. This year he's trying to sit in the pocket and throw which seems to be forcing the issue and take him out of his strength. Semien looked like Dak of last year. I think Dak has too much on his plate and they need to simply the offense. The only time I noticed they got moving the ball was with hurry up offense when they just lined up at the end of the first half. Being there watching in person was just ugly and honestly my ears are still ringing.

No need to panic. The Cowboys coaches fell right into Denver's trap.

The first few runs were stuffed, so Dallas stopped trying. They should have kept running anyway. I don't care if Zeke ended up with 42 yards on 24 carries, at least the threat would have been there and the passing game might've opened up some.

One more thing- the Cowboys will not face a defense this good, on all three levels, again all season. Take this as a learning experience for Dak and Co. and move on. Time for the Cardinals.
Whereas you may be right that this team won't face a defense this good again, we cannot say the same about the coaches. That is the real issue, the coaches do not know how to get the team ready to play each week without the team having their own fire. True enough the coaches don't play the game but having them game ready mentally through film, walk through, and real time scenarios helps.

In my opinion, the problem with the coaches isn't about preparation or motivation. It's gameplanning and execution. The Cowboys, through two games, are going against everything that made them so unstoppable last year. Dak Prescott has thrown 89 passes in two games while Zeke has 33 carries. This is not the 2016 formula for success.

I'm a huge Dak Prescott fan, but he's not this type of QB, at least not yet. It's time to lean on what these players do best, and only change it once opponents prove they can stop it. I read somewhere on this forum that Garrett is trying to turn Dak into Tony Romo. That would be a massive mistake.

The only two stats from that game that interest me are 178 yards rushing given up, and 9 of 15 3rd down conversions given. Those have to change real quick or we all are going to feel worse.

Dak was the worst 3rd and long qb in the league last year
No, a little above average or a little below average, depending on what standard you use. Here are the actual numbers.

Of the 32 QB with the most attempts on 3rd and 7+, here's where Dak ranked:
passer rating 13th
comp % 5th
TD 6th
YPA 23rd
1st down % 19th

Here's 3rd and 10+
passer rating 15th
comp % 18th
TD 3rd
YPA 22nd
1st down % 20th

The book is out on Dak because Linny and company are trying to turn him into Romo in this offense. They did the same to Weeds, Cassel, etc. That's not him. He had success last year because they designed the offense around him and what he did well. Now he has the open playbook. He's checking and calling audibles way too much and thinking too much. Which is affecting his accuracy IMO. He needs to progress, but don't turn him into something he's not!

This. Dak needs to be a role player and that's not a bad thing. Several teams have found success like that.

nobody is freaking out over the loss,we are worried about a pattern with this team and the future it holds. If we cant fix the running game and Dez issues then we cant win our Division.

I really wish some of these 'cowboys fans' would go back to the philly message board where they belong. Wentz barely laid 20 on Kansas. If Witten catches a pass that hits him in the hand, Dak lays 24 points on Denver. Wentz being here last night wouldn't have seen any different outcome. You don't beat Denver by laying a ton of points on them. You beat them by not letting Trevor Siemian look like Aaron Rodgers. The falcons only laid 23 points on the Broncos last year. The highest scoring team against the Broncos was the Raiders with 30 last year. We're simply not going to lay 40 points on the Broncos.

Dak's far from a role-player, nor does he need to be fit as a role-player. He just found trouble against a great defense.

On another note, its pretty bad we have 'cowboys fans' making up rhetoric like Dak is inaccurate
http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/dak-prescott-one-of-the-nfl-s-most-accurate-deep-passers-010417

He was 4th in completion percentage last year and is actually one of the most accurate deep passers n the league

In reference to the Wentz vs Dak debate, I fear we have seen the Dak's ceiling while it's apparent Wentz has way bigger upside. He passes the eye test and will torch our secondary for year s to come when he peaks

Romo took four years in the league before becoming a starter in the NFL and Dak is two games into year two and he's already hit his ceiling?

I sometimes feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone when reading some posts here.

If anyone has hit his ceiling it's the red-headed step child who is in year seven of his head coaching job.
