The are two things that teams can do when they have the ball -- either run or pass.

Thing about stats they only tell you what you did in the past not what you will do in the future.

ok. In a very oversimplified way, the statistical argument holds water. :)

I think we're at least on the same level, which is some 'spect that is being denied.

Well, if you want a much less simplified version, just check out Aikman's efficiency rating which has us rated higher than New England.

No, but the players do, and they're the ones that produce the numbers.

This is a great analysis and creates a even better story. I'm on board with you, Theo (in conforming to the pirate theme).

You could just about call of that EVEN.

On the opponents QB passer rating - We faced Trent Edwards, Trent Green, Rex Grossman, Eli Manning, Marc Bulger. You could call two of those guys rookies LOL

Both lines and big plays are gonna win this game.

Advantage: Pats/Moss

For all we know, we BOTH stink (you know, since we've played no one)

Yeah, but we can't run block at all until the second half when the defense starts to wear down. What if the Pats start scoring early? We won't be running in the second half. We will be one dimensional and that makes defending us must easier. The Cowboys better shore up their run blocking and have it clicking in the first half, or I too pick the Pats to win.

While I agree with you in principle, Chicago would not!

Troy Aikman says his efficiency rankings have predicted the winner of a game 85 percent of the time during the past few seasons. And we're ranked higher than New England.

I found this interesting and looked it up. Here is what I found.

Sometimes the AERs confirm your opinion of a team – and sometimes they don’t. I’ve been as impressed as anyone with the Patriots’ hot start, but the AERs don’t confer greatness on them just yet. It should be noted that their five victims have a combined 7-16 record and only San Diego ranks in the top half of our Combined AERs. I expect this to be a great game and think the Cowboys could win and will almost surely end New England’s streak of victories by 17-plus points.
