Due to me having a workaholic attitude and a job that demands me to be there every second of my life i was unable to attend the mini camp my boys were holding this weekend. I was wondering how Jackie Battle looked and if it looked as if he was mainly at the running back or if they tried him at some fullback. I think personally he would be great at fullback and really put some pressure on the existing fullbacks in place.

I really hope they don't put him at FB... I know we have Barber, but Battle is really strong, hopefully we can use him that way..

I think if we put battle at FB that would be a waste since we already drafted Anderson for the FB position.

I totally agree. From what I have about this kid he do not need to be a FB. With the power and the speed he have I hope he makes the team as a HB and replace TT. I like TT but all that I read about Battle have me excited about his potential.

apparently he was mentioned, along w/ Alonzo Coleman, another UFA back, as players to watch out for in TC

so he must have left a good impression on at least 1 person in mini-camp, since they were all in shorts, he was probably just showcasing the size and speed with which he wowed scouts at his ProDay workout, nothing too major beyong looking good in shorts

:welcome: to the forum. I didn't hear anything about him, but I did hear that his fellow UDFA rookie RB impressed a few. I think it's a coin flip which of them make the team, but I think one or the other will. My money will be on Battle, even though in my top 53 I had Coleman. I flipped a coin.

** Running back Tyson Thompson looks like he's added some bulk to his frame as well. That's going to be a real competition for the third tailback slot with two undrafted rookies Jackie Battle and Alonzo Coleman showing some promise. Keep an eye on Coleman when training camp starts.

** Rookie Jackie Battle showed some nice vision on some runs, but it looks like he runs a little high, which might leave him exposed to some big shots. He took one inadvertent hit Monday that led to a fumble.

Being a workaholic and a boss that demands your every second of your life is not healthy.
Get another job. Eat more roughage. Cut out sugar and meet girls at the supermarket. That's what's made me this good.
As for Jackie Battle, hugely overrated. :)

From the highlights I've seen, Battle is definitely a FB, not a RB.

He's got some quicks and power, and he's got very good hands on the passes, but I didn't see any RB ability with moves at all.

He could possibly play FB and still line up at RB in short yardage, ala Alstott if we wanted to do it that way, but I don't expect a guy like him to be better at short yardage than MBIII.
