Status?

Not one teammate, not one friend, not one coach, no one in the front office, no one in the NFL players union has said one word in defense of Collins. Silence speaks volumes. Only his agent is speaking.
I found that very strange. I really thought the players union would be all over this. Must be more to the attempted bribery. Or the fact that he failed so many tests a year ago that he is in the program. Not sure what stage he is in. I think it was in the system for a year.

Anae and Neal will likely be back this week. The rest will be back sometime after the bye.

I suspect some are just chilling on IR and the team will call up if a need arises. Ball, McKeon, and Joseph come to mind as not really ready and chilling until needed.

Just as we all thought when we saw Gallimore’s injury, he will be out for some time and not the 4-6 weeks the team was blowing smoke.

Hill is just chilling on PUP as an insurance policy. Just in case needed after game 6.

Is there a report on this that I've missed? 4-6 weeks isn't blowing smoke, that was a typical dislocated elbow time frame.

Thanks ninja!

Looks as though we should be getting a slew of help after the Panther game

Those listed as coming back in Week #5 is McKeon, Gallimore, Gallup, Ball, Bernard, Neal and Anae.

However, as noted, IR is a convenient way to stash players until necessary to use them. Being ready to return doesn't mean they will.

In order to activate someone from injured reserve, don't they have to cut someone?

I am shocked Gallimore is not back this week. I had the same injury in high school and missed starting 1 game. I could have played by my coach was being cautious. I got in a couple of plays anyway. I had no lingering pain or swelling 5 days after the injury. Gallimore's injury must have been worse than they claimed. But even so, I cannot understand how he is not back at least practicing - which he can do after 3 weeks on IR. The Cowboys then have 21 days to activate him or put him back on IR I think.

Modern CBA For Entitled Players vs. Old School/Small Scale/Rub Some Dirt On It??

Dang...its been 6 weeks already. Wow that flew by
dotn think they all have to be 6 weeks only the ones put on before the season started, i believe some on short term IR can be 3 weeks.. then come off and have 21 days to be activated..

Between injury, pandemic protocol, suspensions, lawsuits, and various other distractions and ridiculously endless bits of drama, it’s hard to keep track. Would anyone with knowledge of (and a stomach for) a detailed rundown of our current status? Who’s back for the Panthers?
Giants? Pats? After the bye?

Gallup
Watkins
Gallimore
Lawrence
Neal
Collins
Anae
Hill
McKeon
Joseph
Armstrong
Who else?

Gallimore is eligible to come back at this point, but he will probably need a week or two to get into shape.

I thought I read that Kneal actually has it and its not protected so the quarantine is longer. So he will probably miss another game.

Very interesting about that, isn't it?!

Its almost like you're two different people? CRAZY SHOCKING

No, I was referring to the injury itself. I had my arm bent at the elbow in the wrong direction in practice one day. Yeah, it hurt like hell and swelled to twice it's normal size. I got an x-ray and it showed a hyperextension of the elbow and partial separation. But no bone damage or torn ligaments. In a couple of days the swelling subsided and the pain went away. I was in a sling for a few days but ready to play in a week.

As I understand it, Gallimore had a full separation, no bone damage and no torn ligaments. If there were torn ligaments he would have had surgery to repair them and would be out the entire season. So I am assuming he had only strained them, as I did. Given there is no structural damage, I am surprised he is not coming off IR and at least practicing. Like I said they can take him off IR and he can practice for 3 weeks before they activate him or return him to IR. Why not take him off IR and let him at least practice? Gallimore was injured August 13, so this week will be 7 weeks since the injury.

I realize that Gallimore and I are different people, but Gallimore has access to the best healing facilities available while I was given a sling.

I am not a doctor, but based on my experience with a very similar injury, even how his injury occurred was almost identical to how mine did, I am surprised he has been out so long and is still not ready to play.

Yeah, me too. My point was merely that they baby these guys too much. Some owners expect perfection and guarantees, since they’re paying big money, and they’re constantly at odds with those who live by the CBA.
