Staubach v. Aikman v. Romo

Sarcasm or do I actually have some support in this argument?

You do have some support. I love Troy Aikman I think he was a very good QB and leader for this club but that team had some major talent and depth. We did not just have a RB we had a back to lead the league is rushing 3 years in a row and became the all time leading rusher. We had one of the top defense in the league. Dallas team in the 90's won 3 out of 4 SB because they had a ton of talent across the board Troy being one of those highly talented players but you take away the line play you take away the leading rusher and make Troy have run for his life and make plays he would have a rough go of it.

Emmitt is the best ever to wear the star, and if you exclude Super Bowls and Playoff wins Tony Romo is the best QB to wear the star.

You and Quarterback Coach sure know how to get a reaction. As they say, youth is wasted on the young.

Again I say, let Romo's career play out. 3.5 seasons compared to 11 and 12 are not fair comparisons.

Romo stepped into a team that was playoff ready and has yet to see a season where everything around him sucks. Staubach and Aikman both had to experience low points.

Aikman was a #1 overall draft choice, that means he came into a extremely bad situation.

If you were going to throw out Super Bowl and play off wins, it could be argued that White deserves to be mentioned ahead of Roger and Troy.

I understand everybody's affection for Romo, he is our best chance at a championship at this time. But as for comparing him to 2 HOF'ers,,, let's wait until there is a comparable body of work,,, let's say, after Romo has started for 10 years. If there is a Super Bowl win or two in there,,, or at least a couple of trips there,, then let's compare.

I agree. Roger and Troy story has been writen Romo is still playing the game his story is one that is still in progress. Right now he has broken many of the Cowboys records if he and this team can go on to win a SB or 2 it could be agrued he was the best since he would have the hardware some want to soley judge a QB on as well as most QB records

You can also look at each QBs best 4 seasons, since that all Romo has logged. Aikman beats Romo in comp % 65.9 to 63.4 while Romo edges Aikman in QB Rating 95.6 to 91.1,,, which can be explained away due to Emmitt's large amount of TDs vs Romo passing for the majority in recent history.

His stats blow Staubachs and Aikmans out of the water up until this point, and if your going to tell me Pearson/Hayes and Irvin/Novacek are worse receivers than Owens/Witten Austin/Witten its not by much.

So is Dan Marino the greatest QB of all time?

I was talking QBs, but just so you will know, I think Bob Lilly is the best Cowboy to ever wear the :star:.

Your thinking Romo is better than Roger just proves two things:

1. You never saw Roger play (and I don't mean ESPN highlights)

2. You still wet behind the ears

Hang in there, you will learn someday:)
