We need at least one disruptive force on the defensive line. It took Denver going to the SB and getting blown out by Seattle to realize they needed a Ware to take pressure off Miller.

We don't have a Ware or a Miller, we have nothing. If we enter next season with a nothing, once again will we be shredded by elite QB play.
It's not nothing, but it wasn't enough this year. The pass rushing talent we have now will further develop but I'm not opposed to getting a paid headhunter in free agency.

Rob Ryan is available :D

Now that the fog of disgust has lifted a bit, its clear to me that the path the OP has laid out is the approach we will take.
Reasonably priced FA on prove it deals.
We will sign one or two of our secondary players and wave bye to the others.
We will make an offer to twill and like Murray before him, he will take it or leave.
I think Jerry is about to wet himself over jaylon and hopefully he is right. The kid could really help.
The development of Damian Wilson is something to keep an eye on also.
I would make a reasonable offer to the ravens d lineman Brandon Williams and see if he bites.
Lots of moves to be made. Let's just hope they make some good ones

Having a quality MIKE already on the roster would be huge. That's an area we don't complain about a lot, because we've got two capable role players there, but replacing them with an actual impact player would change the defense. It sucks that we whiffed on Gregory and that Lawrence is an injury scratch, because that means spending more precious draft assets on DL, but with the way we rotate there, the problem is really upgrading the top 8 more than finding an immediate huge-impact player at one of the DE spots (though that's the single biggest thing we could do to help this defense, finding a true rookie impact edge rusher at 28 or below would be like finding another Dak). We can definitely find multiple DL contributors, though, who would be upgrades to players like Jack Crawford, Ryan Davis, or Richard Ash. If the Benson Mayowas of the world are your rotational guys and not guys you need a ton of snaps from, you've upgraded your DL quite a bit.

At least we're at a point now where we're a very attractive place for potential defensive FA. It always comes down to the money, but all other things being equal, players are going to want to play in Dallas again.

I think criticism of the coaching staff for some of it's decisions during the GB game is warranted but also think that, if a few players stepped up at key moments and made plays, there would be fewer cries for heads to roll.

Continuity may not provide immediate gratification for those who need to assuage their disappointment and vent their frustration but may be the best course forward if we want to sustain positive momentum from this year.

I don't think the coaches or players are ever above reproach.

I just subscribe to the theories that the grass isn't always greener and that if you want to replace someone, you need to have someone better in mind before moving on.

The best chance to land a dynamic talent is through the draft. You don't often see an Ed Reed-type safety or a stud pass rusher on the market unless they have some warts or want more money than they're conceivably worth.
