Someone posted this picture the day after we drafted him.....That guy can jump

ya the slide show he makes a catch and all the cowboys around him are looking way up in the air too. if the guy is so fast and so tall wonder why he isnt a receiver?

some teams were thinking about converting him to WR before the draft

But he is better than your Commander WRs :laugh2:

Good luck this year against our secondary... no last minute miracles this year ;)

:starspin

Being that tall, and can still jump that high is a freak of nature. Not to mention nearly running a 4.3 40 - this cat is going to be a terror in this league if he can put it all together.

Comparing a FS to a WR seems like a slightly faulty comparison to me...

This is why I hope he's made the starter by game one. Unlike Davis he's a ballhawk with speed. He'll get burned as a rookie, but I think that the number of times offenses will be successful passing deep on us will go down dramatically. You can't throw OVER the kid!

you simply can't teach that kind of ball awareness and jumping ability. he will get at least 3 ints just because QB's will miss judge the amt of space he can cover.

yeah I made that video yesterday, and I was thinking of making a longer version, of the beggining. im prolly gonna find some spider man clips and make a longer one.

Very pleased when the Cowboys drafted Watkins in the 5th round; couldn't believe he was still available and that we moved up to grab him. In fact, except for Carpenter (I would have been happy with either Lawson or the other kid), I wasn't pleased with Fasano or Hatcher cause I didn't think we addressing our needs. Drafting Green late in 4th room wasn't too bad but when we moved up in the 5th round to grab Watkins, I was thrilled. When he was followed by Stanley at DT/NT, then I was satisfied. Had no problem with McQuistan or Whitely in 7th round (although I wanted OL picks earlier).

Anyway I hoped Watkins would show enough to catch the coaching staff's attention so he would get some playing time on defense. I didn't expect him to look so good so soon nor turn out to be the best draftee so far. The picture of him jumping for that ball is incredible. Can't wait til he plays and hopefully makes one of those grabs. Can you imagine the announcer's reaction and the comments when it's played back. Word is going to get around the league about this kid real quick & some of those other teams who passed on him will just kill themselves. Ha. Hopefully he continues what he has started; he's going to be a real pleasure to watch.

Davis is in front of him for now at FS & I expect Davis to remain the starter through most of the season, but Watkins is going to be pushing Davis every minute and Davis better be looking over his shoulder.

A Commander fan would view it that way...

to put it simply, Pat Watkins will have more catches FROM YOUR QB than the receivers he is covering...

Brunell and Co. were SHUT OUT last year for 59 minutes in Big D (your hero Moss did NOTHING till then)... there will be no lucky last minute miracles for you this year my friend. Neither of those passes are caught, much less taken to the endzone with Watkins back there.
