So steele is just a monster in the run game and his pass protection is still improving I wanna know y’all thoughts on connor mcgovern this season
McGovern is not athletic nor strong enough in our lineup. I look forward to the 23 draft to find his replacement.

 Let's consider a few things.
Most of their biggest runs have come to the left
Wherever the play ends, you often see 66.
Many breakdowns show how nicely 66 gets to the next level to block in space.
He has a little nasty to him
Dak is getting very little pressure. 66 helps his guys and anchors down in pass pro. Not getting thrown into the pocket like CWill.
Many teams would take him in a heartbeat.

He’s a starter quality nfl guard
He’s gonna get paid decent money
But those are the guys you keep churning so you can afford to keep the elite guys

Well, given the state of NFL line play, I don't think this is as true as it once was. When you have a truly viable player today, you are ahead of about half the league.

McGovern's played well enough to the point where I want him back next year. He'd make a solid backup.

We as fans tend to over value some players, hopefully that is the case with McGovern and we can afford to re-sign him.

CWill wasn't a very good G. McG is much more solid.
IDK about that I would actually take Williams over McGovern if all other aspects are equal. Williams is a bonafide starter in this league with some obvious flaws. McGovern I see as a fringe starter. He probably always has a job as it's tough to find 5 quality Olinemen for a team these days, but I'm skeptical he ever makes a pro bowl, even as an alternate.

I think McG walks unless it's official that Tyler is our 2023 LT and Tyron gets moved or retires.

Steele really improved this year. Glad he's a RFA at the end of this year.

McGovern is a backup or a fringe level starter. He just hasn't taken a leap towards more, and in year 4, he probably won't.

I don't like him as a starter. I would be fine paying him to be a backup, cause you can't have studs at every roster spot, but I am betting he gets a better offer elsewhere.

I'm not saying he will make a pro bowl but he has been very solid in both run & pass pro. Williams was the weak link that was abused whenever the other team needed to make a play.
I know he moved to C in Miami and at least started the season well. Not sure how he is doing now. Maybe the change to C will help him thrive but he wasn't a good G.

McGovern will get a good UFA contact elsewhere next year. I'd love to see him sign with the Jets because he would make a nice tandem with their center, Connor McGovern.
