any thoughts on 2nd year Steele replacing Lael Collins at RT ?

Thats a clear sign that the OL coaches have been disappointed with vet Collins return to RT role
such that they preferred Steele starting over Collins.

- Collins worked his way into shape to be in the Bucs game one , while still recovering from hip surgery .. but he has been subpar and lacking since returning from suspension .

- He may be type that really needs to play himself back into game shape - and only way to play ..not seat the bench. He's supposed to be vastly more talented and effective than Steele.

- Collins was in and out on those insanely whatever the hell rotations the coaches decided to do in-game with both RT and LG but for better part of the 4th Quarter ..it was all Steele.

- That tends to send a message imo .. and could this be the end of Collins starting remaining of this season ? .. if not the future ?

It’s too late to switch people around again. Only 6 games left and the guys need to try and gel.

I do see massive changes coming on the line this off-season though. At least two new starters next season, maybe three.

- i dunno what to make of our center guy yet ... don't be surprised if he is actually on the pro bowl invite ... yet we still see those knuckle ball shotguns that Dak has to
eye target to his face and over his out reached arms over his eyes ....
Even more so .. per Broaddus Tyler has put together games where he has no surrendered any pressures.

- McGovern ? .. still quite a work in progress ..but i'm not impressed with him yet
- Martin -still one of better OGs in NFL though not what he once was .....
- watch this Collins situation- either club will decide to return him to compete form ..or they'll pursue a trade and draft his replacement
( or decide with developing Josh Ball)
- Steele is much more comfortable at RT, but he's just a decent backup.
- Club will squeeze out remaining contract years from Tyron, no immediate replacement; club content on plug reserves and case by case basis.

The OL was a shyte show and MM strategy of rotating RT and LG was incompetent in the extreme.

The OL merry-go-round has been a disaster and directly responsible for the 3 recent losses.

Steele is the backup RT.

Lael is the more talented RT and should start.

Williams should start at LG.

McGovern is the backup LG and RG but should start at FB/TE and is integral to the JUMBO package.

Nsehke is the backup LT.

Issac Alacron should be the LG.

Strum heard from his sources that the move for Steele into the starting lineup was legitimate. Collins has been real bad since his return, I expect him to either return to guard or off the roster next season trade or even release. They save 10 million if a June 1st cut

Martin not what he once was? He is playing as good as he ever has, the best Guard in football, what unrealistic expectations do you have of him?

Collins probably watching his PED intake right now, because if his suspension. He’ll revitalize his career when things die down and he is more disciplined in terms of the checks.

They need excuses for Dak. The blocking Dak gets on a ‘bad day’ is what QBs in this league normally experience every Sunday.

This team has effectively made Zeke a pass blocker for Dak since 2019 onwards.

The only thing we can praise him for in this stretch of losing, is his blocking and immaculate timing to pick up the blitzer.
