Steelers wide receiver may have serious tendon injury
Sunday, May 02, 2010
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The bad luck continued today for Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed, who left the final minicamp practice with what appears to be a serious Achilles tendon injury, coach Mike Tomlin revealed.
Sweed, the team's second-round draft pick in 2008, was mounting a comeback from some emotional issues that caused the Steelers to place him on injured reserve for the final two games of last season.
If the tendon is ruptured, it likely would mean that Sweed could not play in 2010.

If the Steelers are interested in one of our receivers, it'll be to replace the production they've lost to the departure of Santonio Holmes. It certainly won't be because they feel they need to replace Sweed, who's accumulated a whopping 69yds on 7 receptions over the past two years.

its amazing sweed is a 2nd round pick but shipley is a third

No kidding.

They needed a reciever before Sweed got hurt. He cant play.

I love this. Is it wrong to see the Steelers falling apart.

Q: How long before the league makes it mandatory that the Steelers get the #1 overall pick yearly.

Sweed is garbage and the Steelers know it. He's filler for training camp this year according to people I work with who are fans of that team. Apparently the organization has full confidence in Mike Wallace replacing Holmes and having Randle El back in the slot. Ward on the other side and Heath Miller at TE, give them a respectable corps. Wallace came on at the end of the year for them and is quick. Plus, they plan on going back to running the ball a lot more this year, especially with Ben sitting the first 6. Running the ball and getting the D to stop teams, they plan on winning 13 to 10 type games all year. It's what they do.

Oh you silly boys, they got back Antwaan Randle El. They're sorted.
