As was predicted, just over a foot accumulated, not sure why all the hysteria. They do a good job amping people up, calling things a blizzard or the storm of the year.
Winter in WNY has been ridiculously mild. The Lake won't even freeze.
A foot of lake effect for you guys in Buffalo isn't even newsworthy. That's a minor dusting compared to some of the storms you get up there:laugh:

True, they like to get folks stirred. But I can't imagine moving games when they suggest bad weather.
Maybe in Texas.

The game would be absolutely unplayable and unwatchable.
Yes but it is still football weather. In other words, it is weather that was grown in intensity to the point where even those fans, who enjoy weather affecting the quality of a game, do not want to experience themselves.

Some professional sports team fans, in 24 countries around the world, have weather taken out of the equation for their games. Getting to and from games because of weather is the only problem. Hopefully in the future, ALL such fans will only see videos like these taken outside their stadiums, consider how they can get to and from the stadium, and watch 60-minutes of football played at the highest level without Mother Nature's interference.

The worst lake effect snows happen early in the season when the first really cold air masses move over water that hasn't cooled off or frozen yet. Picks up much more moisture when the water is still warm.

I live in Michigan in somewhat close proximity to Lake Michigan

We get some lake effect in our area but it's nothing like what you guys get up there off the shores of Lake Ontario

Don't know how you feel but the most miserable part of winter is the constant gray cloudiness that seems to hover as a result of the lake

Not seeing direct sunlight for days or sometime weeks can be rough on your psyche

This is true

We had an atypically mild December which was nice but the trade off is you pay for it when the cold air finally does arrive

There are two plows, a tractor trailer, a car in the ditch and four lanes of highway. Can you find them all? This is 10 minutes from the stadium. I wore shorts while blowing out my driveway earlier. Lol.

Never understood why these northern and northeastern teams aren't required to have stadiums with retractable roofs... they are the ones that need it most. SMDH.....
