Stephen doesn't expect any changes to the personnel department

Someone should mess with the GPS navigation on Jerry's yacht and send it to the coast of Somalia when Jerry and Stephen go on their next voyage in March. Or how about the North Atlantic ice field in the winter? I heard Jerry has always wanted to take a dive to see the Titanic. Jerry could have the honor of being the first person to come face to face with the Titanic since 1912.

As if McClay or anyone besides Stephen and Jerry does anything anyways.

McClay wants no part of a real GM job.
Even if he does he knows he would have to go to another team to get a job like that. Iron fist Jerry is taking that role to the grave with him.

Like most personnel departments, they've been hit and miss. Frederick and Tyler Smith were fantastic later-round finds. Mazi and Taco not so much, and the jury is still out on Guyton. Don't know how much of our struggles in the second round are on the personnel department or if it's a matter of Jerry looking at the board and seeing a first-round value there because of injury/character and having to have him.

I think a lot of fans' concept of good drafting looks like is out of touch with reality, but the Joneses make that reality worse with their poor use of free agency. Our draft picks either get thrown in the fire or have to play/make the roster because we simply don't bring in better players. For example, we threw a late-round rookie corner to the wolves when one of our starting corners got hurt, That's setting a player up for failure. Bland's play his rookie year is the exception not the rule for late-rounders and he primarily was limited to the slot that year. Carson was going to have trouble living up to that example, especially on the outside.

McClay won't even interview for real GM jobs.

He's comfortable being Jerry yes man.
Maybe he just likes his job, likes the area, likes his pay. Not everyone wants to be a GM. If Jerry had made him GM years ago, he'd have been fired before now.

So no changes in the GM, Director of Personnel, VP of Personnel, the scouting staff or the coaches and things are tight this year with the cap.

Cowboys!
Don't worry. Our first-round pick will be someone we had slotted much higher on our board. In fact, we may end up with at least three first-round values.

I'm not sure Will McClay is as sought after considering recent events. He may be a lot easier to retain than he was last time around.

Cowboys Pro Scouts have the easiest job in NFL scouting because they don't have much of a work load in FA, and if they need a player the scouting department just looks up old draft grades and sign a former prospect. These dudes actually think their way of doing things works haha. They do stay profitable, but they won't win anything of note.

That may be true. The last two drafts have brought us Mazi Smith and Tyler Guyton in the first rounds, and a tight end we haven't used much and an end who had no sacks in the second. The resume is looking a little light at the moment.
