Pickens has shown up late to the freaking team plane going to away games. Under Mike Tomlin. One of the most respected coaches in the NFL.

It's just hope. We looked like garbage against the Saints last year. Then garbage for most of the game against the Ravens. Who was injured? We're now hoping Pickens and the draft can make a difference. It could, who knows. No one expected 2014 or 2016.

The big wildcard is Schottenheimer but quite frankly, I thought he was the weak link in the coaching staff already. He was brought in to fix the running game and that was one of the worst parts of the team.

The other guy is Blue. If they happened to pull a rabbit out of their hats then things could look a lot different.

I can see reasons for hope but realistically, Dallas hasn't done much this year. This is a mediocre NFL offseason by most standards. We are just accustomed to even worse so this looks like a pleasant surprise.

They had a nice draft, and the Pickens trade was a good move, but I am not buying the cheese, I don't see this defense being much better than last year's historically bad defense.
