I know he was on IR this year but is he still on the team? IIRC Wade was really, really high on this guy and when he injured his knee he was bummed about it.

Yes, still on the team.

I'd like to hear something from someone in know on how his rehab was going...

Didn't he have microfracture surgery done?

I haven't heard anything about his rehab. Hopefully he can get healthy and make an impact this coming season.

I believe so...which is a major surgery on the knee and rehab is long. Next year's TC is gonna be filled with competition from the younger guys.

yes he is still on the team, but you have to remember, last reports said that he had a degenarative knee, or something like that, so we will have to wait and see if he is healthy now or not

this is way i view hodge, is like one linebacker that wade had for him playing inside linebacker for the chargers, later this linebacker went to kansas city. The linebacker was small like hodge, but very fast, etc. When he learned how to play wiht the big NT covering him up, he excelled in pass coverage etc, and i think this is what wade plans to do with hodge especially on obvious passng downs.

I thought it was Brandon Williams injury that really disappointed Wade. He was really high on him on draft day.

I believe you're correct, I remember people talking about him and how they thought he could produce rushing the passer early.

I could have been mistaken...but B. Williams is a BEAST!

yep, Williams is the the kid he was real high on. Which is a GOOD thing because microfracture surgery is usually a career ender in football.

I'm friends with someone who is very close to Hodge.

I'll see what I can find out.

She just said he's doing "great." That his leg is good and he's not walking with any sort of limp anymore. He's been at their house watching the games a few times in the past couple of months.

That's about it.

Whenever I hear about a guy with a degenerative knee these days, Justin Beriault comes to mind. Hope Hodge has better luck with it.

I think like most of these things it depends on:

Which part of the knee is affected?

How badly is it affected?

How long has it been going on?

What is the state of the rest of the knee?

Some people have come back fairly successfully. I think part of Beriault's problem was how far gone the knee was by the time it was discovered.

Anyhow, the surgery is far from a sure thing. Everyone will have a good idea on how he is doing by the time he gets into a couple of preseason games.

I don't think we are counting on anything from him at this point so anything we get is a positive.

It'd be great if he could develop into a nickel backer that can blanket pass catching TEs, sniff out screens and stick the RB on draws. Every team can use a guy with those sorts of skills.

Beriault and the DE/LB that also had the same injury that year had to have additional work on some of the bone which made the odds for recovery very long and both did not.

From reading Archer's and others' TC and OTA reports ... I got the feeling that Hodge and Butler were the most impressive defensive rookies (during a period when J. Williams was mostly lost).

Hodge has got a knack of covering ground and getting in on the play, whether it's from scrimmage or on special teams.
