Stephen: I don't see us moving up in the draft but we could move down

Nothing like giving away your game plan.
This is how it’s done in the NFL.

Lots of teams are putting out the word on their plans to test the waters and start some preliminary negotiations.

Waiting until the draft starts and having a half hour to start a trade from scratch while every other team is working their boards and handling phones it’s crazy

Playing all of you haters like a fiddle. I sleep well at night knowing that Steve and Jerr are at the controls.

That would be funny.
I can see some comments now ...

Stephen ... I tried to take the card from his hand again, but he faked one way, and went the other this time. I just could not catch him ....
I see it happening if he's there.

Jerry loves Deion and I feel like he would do this. Can you image how much attention it would bring?
 The only Sanders that could end up in Dallas would be Shilo but it would be a hoot and Jerry Jones thing to do. I don't see Shaduer getting past NO with alleged Carr health concerns. Unless Dart is the second QB off the board

I’d love to find a way to deal with Seattle. They have 5 picks in the first 92

Their biggest need is OL, by far and then maybe WR.

They have 18, 50, 52, 82 and 92

I’m concerned that unless their prime player is at 12, they wouldn’t be tempted to move from 18, which would probably also cost them 52.

Now, would they take 12 and give up 50, 52, 92 and 137?

At this point, it’s all of us just playing around. It is inportant though to at least pretend to be serious and use the pick chart

He's just putting it out there so other teams will call trying to move up...They want to move down and add a fourth round pick
Yeah usually they do themselves no favors with their mouths, but I doubt it matters in this case.

Everyone is always open for business if the offer is right. Let’s hope it’s there. Think I said it earlier but I expect them to go back a handful of slots and targeting Golden.

What I do know is not to trust Jerry's judgement in these situations, especially when he goes around the process. What I do know is in both the Lance and Mingo situations their former teams gave up a lot to get these 2 players and in less then 2 years they wanted to be done with them. Trading them for a fraction of what they paid for them (and now to your point neither have show anything on game day or apparently to their former teams in camp or practice.

On top of that the Cowboys are looking to draft a WR #2 early in the draft, so it seems they have already determined that is not Mingo.

"At the time of trade, Lance had just been demoted to third-string backup, two years after being the third overall pick that the 49ers had traded three first-round picks"

"Mingo was an early second-round pick of the Panthers in 2023 that the Cowboys had high on their draft board. In roughly a season and a half, he played in 24 games with 19 starts. Out of 111 targets, he caught 55 passes for 539 yards and failed to score a touchdown. Only 19 of his catches resulted in a first down. In eight games with the Cowboys last year, he started once and finished with five receptions for 46 yards, no touchdowns, and two first downs on 16 targets."
His qbs sucked and you should see how he does. He should contribute. You should know that Cooper Rush sucks.

make sense

gotta get another 4th to trade away for another bust

lance and mingo not enough for stephen and jerry

I would not be a bit surprised if he already has a few scenarios from a couple of teams. Like if this or that player falls and our 1st or 2nd target is off the board. Pretty sure this happens with many teams before the draft starts.

Actually it is not.
This tells other teams they are willing to make a trade. And it does not compromise anything. So it gives other teams ideas to put together if there is a player there at 12. So it is not like a last minute trade proposal.
Hate to admit it but it is a pretty savvy comment coming from Jr.

if they move down...depending how far...
ot josh simmons,ohio st
rb omarion hampton,nc
dt kenneth grant,michigan
wr emeka egbuka,ohio st

any of those 4...please and thank you.

Hopefully, Stephen is indicating they have some switches that can be flicked if the right player(s) falls to the 12 spot. Go get that extra 4th back, Stephen :flagwave:
