Why can't it wait until the end of the season? Could they get a better value now? I'm not sure how that works.

They can get some CAP savings off his 5th year tender.
But will pay for it down the line as the CAP goes up.

Can I make a motion that anyone who was pissed when we drafted him can't be happy about this? LOL

Oh I'm very happy with this pick. Will admit I was not very happy with it at the time. Will gladly eat my crow and admit I was very wrong.

This OL is going to be a very expensive unit to keep together. You have to wonder if someone will end up being the odd man out, or will they manage to keep Martin, Frederick, and Collins.

Shouldn't matter. Lock them up and get by elsewhere. You can have sustained dominance there that will have a ripple effect throughout the entire roster.

Letting any of the 4 walk should not be an option.

I can't be the only one who thinks this, but I happen to think that Fred is probably the most important piece of the puzzle. He's freakishly smart and is the qb/leader of the entire line. That's no disrespect to Martin or Smith. This line is THAT good lol

I'm a about dominance on the OL, but we might have upwards of $350-$400 million tied up in the OL by the time they're all paid (granted, over a lot of years). I just hope that we don't ignore the rest of the team because we're so concerned with keeping one unit together.

By the time that Collins comes out of price control after 3 more seasons, Romo and his massive cap hit will likely be retired. I hope they can keep Fred, Martin, and Collins. A young QB could sure use them.

He could very well be 1st team all pro this season. That skyrockets any price tag.

I have coached O-line for a while, and I have always believed that the left tackle and the center are the two most important spots.

I think its smart if they do.

Does anybody know if guys like McLain and the rest of our suspended plays fofeit their salaries during the suspensions and can we use that money towatds other players?

Or does the league fine them their salaries and collect it in addition to fines?

Who gets that money.?

The players lose their salaries and the pro-rated amounts of their signing bonuses when suspended...DAL keeps the money and gets rebates back against the cap...the team can get fined if they multiple players suspended for 15-25% up to 250k....this is exactly what just happened to DAL
