That's pretty ridiculous. He had his worst season average (3.8 per carry) this year and the drop-off has been clear since he got hurt the previous season.
I've been a Zeke defender, believing he and Pollard made a good one-two punch. He averaged 4.2 yards per carry in 2021 and until that injury looked like the old Zeke. This year, he had his moments, but as the season wound down, he just looked like an old Zeke.
Time to recognize that the wall won and move on. I was initially in favor of keeping him if he extremely lowered his contract, but I think we'd be better off getting some young legs to pair with Pollard. Tag Pollard for a year and see if the new back can make him expendable the next year. Then, draft a No. 2 for that back. Rinse and repeat in a few years.
