Shut up, why??

I think what he said is very true
Dez needs to learn that what Stephen said is true and learn to deal with it
DB's know they can't beat him straight up so they are going to try and frustrate him and it has happened and will happen again
Just have to play your game and keep your head straight

You don't want Camp Quiet do you.
Steven is just taking over for Jerry as the face of the Cowboys.
It's a learn on the job. Even though he watched Jerry say anything for a few years.

Yeah. Not getting it.

Shut up, why??

Dez is a vet. He doesn't need to talk to him like he's a rookie. It's not like he has a history of getting personal fouls. Dez knows what he's doing starting these flights in practice. He got this advice from Irvin. He's trying to pump up the team. I hate when these idiots sin the franchise and media try to put a muzzle on him. Before Dez this team was full of zombies. Let's not go back to that please.

Stephen is right. That would have gotten Dez kicked out of a game and possibly suspended.

Teams noticed. They're going to bait him.

No, Dez went out on the field in a playoff game when the Cowboys defense was on the field. The Refs amazingly didn't penalize him. The Refs later came out and said it was a mistake not to penalize him. That could have been the difference in the game.

The initial issue with Patmon was not a big deal, but the fact that he could not let it go for 10 minutes shows immaturity.

I don't think I've seen a camp fight get this much publicity since Romanowski cheap shotted a dude.

I guess that's part of Dez being a lightning rod.

I have zero problems with the entire situation. Bryant and Patmon's tussle was no big deal. That sort of thing has been happening since football was created. Bryant is a passionate player, whose emotions did not neither get completely out of control after the tussle nor prominently influence anything he stated to the media afterwards in a negative way. Jones voiced concerns about the ramifications of what might happen in a real game situation. His concerns would be misplaced by substituting Romo into the what if scenario. Romo is not known for losing his cool. Bryant is. It does not mean Bryant is guaranteed to make a mistake in judgment during a game. It simply means Bryant can get as hot as he wants but should not disregard common sense in the heat of the moment. It is the same requirement that has been held or shall always be held by all players in the sport of football. No exceptions.

The purpose of my thread was not about Dez vs Pattmon but rather about the influence of Jason Garrett on the organization. I guess the phrase "task at hand" was not specific enough.

When you're in the business, you understand what distractions can do. Maybe not as big of an appreciation for it early in Jerry's and my career, in terms of how it can really take the focus away from the task at hand, which is putting together the best possible team you can with the personnel you have and try to win a championship. To stay away from a Dez Watch, to have any type of distractions or excuses is a good thing not to have. It doesn't just affect management; it affects the coaches. You guys are putting microphones in their faces, saying 'Wouldn't it be nice if we had Dez out here.' I think it is great that we don't have really any distractions at this point. I think there's an edge to this team. I think you feel it out there when you're on the field. I think there's a lot of competition going on and it's a good thing.

I miss the good old days of Michael Westbrook pounding on Stephen Davis.
