Romo sucked? Did you see what he had to deal with? When did Romo ever have an offensive line with a top 15 defense?
2013 - Dallas had 12 Pro Bowlers (not including Romo himself), including offensive line starters Flozell Adams and Larry Allen, and the NFL's 9th ranked defense.

And one and done in the playoffs.

2011 - 14th ranked defense.
2009 - 9th ranked defense, offensive line Pro Bowl starter Andre Gurode and backup Pro Bowler Leonard Davis
2008 - 8th ranked defense, offensive line Pro Bowlers Leonard Davis and Adams, starters.
2006 - 13th ranked defense.

Look, I'm as much of a Romo fan as most anybody, but let's quit with the "Romo never had a good team around him" crap, it's just not true.

Uhhhh Larry Allen left the Cowboys in 2005 and retired in 2007, Adams left the boys in 2009 and retired a year later.

Larry Allen was never with Tony Romo as a starter

Pro bowlers are basically voted by the fans. Gurode was a disaster for example without Romo,

Can somebody explain him that you cant focus 110% ? Please ?!

Not knowing percentage calculation is not looking good for our allpro salary cap guru.

I dont want to call him an idiot, but ...... he is.
actually its not, the English Slang of language manipulation says we can, as its and expression, not and actual belief you can do more than 100% unless you norm is 100% and now you are in deep medation to get the 10% increased focus...

lets focus on the question asked, totally stupid expecting a real answer whole they are preparing for a huge game as if any team would answer with "sure if he loses hes fired " etc.

Don’t make up some false narrative. 12 probowlers is false. And putting a 13th ranked defense like it’s top 5 is a pathetic reach. He’s ne never had a line and a d at the same time, never and always was coached by a guy who can’t even land a high school gig now. End of story, don’t come at me with bs stat lines

I am telling you all right now, if the Cowboys dump McCarthy and blow multiple draft picks to get Sean Payton, it will set the Cowboys back another 3 or 4 years. If they are willing to give up a 1st round pick or two to get Payton, they would be better offer giving up those picks to get a player, maybe a QB, who will make a bigger difference on the field. Payton is not going to fix Dak. What is wrong with Dak cannot be fixed. At best it might be controlled but he will always be the guy who falters in the second half of the season and flops in some big games against good teams.

But even if Payton manages to turn Dak into a game manger, not something Payton is familiar with, he will still be a liability when they have to come from behind in a bid game. I have said it before, the QB should be the last guy on the field making mental mistakes, not the guy who makes the most mental mistakes.

If they think Payton can fix DAk, then why not hire him as a consultant to work with Dak in the offseason?

Exactly Romo and Dak are the same...either you cant stand them both or you like them both... loving one and hating the other just shows ridiculousness. One was failed by the same GM the other has been failed by...its not hard to see if you actually look at the last 26 years.

The quote was that Romo never had a top 15 defense. 13 is within the 15. I never said 13 was like top 5. The 2008 and 2009 defenses were 8th and 9th, that's even better than 13, but you conveniently ignored that. Stick to the actual discussion.

As far as Pro Bowlers go,12 in NOT false, but excuuuuse me, I got off on the wrong article, it was actually 2008, per Wiki below is the NFC Pro Bowl rostter, with Dallas players in italics I added:

Special teams[edit]

And you will notice that 3 of the 5 starters on the offensive line were starters. I'd say that made a pretty good line.

But why the vitriol? I said I was an admirer of Romo, and agreed he had to have Garrett as his coach for most of his career, but please, Romo's failures to win a SB, NFC championship or multiple playoff games in one season definitely were at least some of his fault....

He's not the right guy for the job but I will say this, back to back 12 win seasons without a QB is pretty impressive.
Dig real deep and see how many of those 24 wins were against quality teams....I would do the research, but I just ate Mexican for lunch and am feeling lazy.

don't get the feeling jerry made any approach of Sean Payton . seems like jerry and stephen are happy with 12 win regular seasons. Mainly , i don't think jerrry wants to pay 10 mil for a coach nor cede control to a popular coach like sean payton. I don't see a scenario where MM is fired even if they lose to Tampa . it is another year at least.
