Stephen Jones & the Dallas Cowboys: From Splash to Caution

You try so hard to put on a show lol…..your logic makes zero sense oh it’s stock because he’s a receiver…
You try so hard to APPEAR smart and witty...but your formula for defending the indefensible is to:

1) Misstate the position of the other poster (straw man)
2) Passive-aggressively dismiss their position as "silly" ...hoping no one can see how empty YOUR argument actually is...
3) Pretend to have amused mastery by adding an emoji or "LOL"

Theatricality and deception...or low IQ machiavellianism?

And as I told you in the private message...I'm the same behind the scenes - ASK ABOUT ME - so...the only "show" is the no-show to this discussion.

WR is a waay more dependent position and is not the same as investing in a QB. Anyone who understands how practice, reps and what you do when turning a team over to a QB gets this...that is...if they are making an honest argument.

Are we sure at this point? Is it possible that Jerry has some cognitive impairment going on and Stephen is mostly in control.
Jerry is 82 and not getting any younger.
The grand son takes over someday

The Dallas Cowboys have been NFL mainstays for decades, but their postseason success hasn’t matched their profile, thanks Stephen.

Since their last Super Bowl in 1995, the team has cycled through coaches, quarterbacks, and coordinators with no real breakthrough.

The hidden root of the problem? Stephen Jones’s rise to power in the front office.

From salary cap control to contract negotiations and free agency philosophy, Stephen’s cautious approach has reshaped the Cowboys, keeping them stable but rarely championship-caliber.

The Shift From Splash to Caution

While Jerry Jones remains the owner and public face, Stephen has become the real architect behind the team’s strategy.

His style is defined by:

  • Avoiding expensive free agents
  • Delaying contract extensions
  • Draft-focused roster building
  • Minimal external voices in decision-making
But in the modern NFL, teams do not win with this mindset and strategy.

So, I'm wondering which of the "splash" moves Jerry made after the early to mid 1990's brought any more success than in more recent years when Stephen has been more involved? TO? Roy Williams (WR)? Pacman Jones? Rocket Ismail? La Roi Glover?

Do you really think the drought in getting to and having success in the playoffs is new to the period where Stephen became more involved?
