Sounds like Maxx Crosby and Taylor Decker.

Because being able to actually sack the opposing QB, not just pressure him AND being able to consistently protect your own QBs blindside determine wins and losses.

Meh on Decker. All in on Crosby -- I live in Raider territory, so I see most of the games. He is a menace. Absolutely the heart and soul of any defense he plays on. Seems to own a home in every opponent's backfield.

Yeah, the infamous Pressures Crowd always make me chuckle when they attempt to downplay the impact of an actual sack.
Usually I add those to a lengthy ig list.

Agreed on Crosby. I'm not worried about the knee. It may be something that causes him problems down the road, but I haven't seen anything that says that it is a problem now and he's not been a player to miss a lot of time with injuries. That kind of pass rusher could put us over the top on defense. Trading for him would be expensive, of course, and the Raiders may not even be interested now, but this is the type of deal I expect a team to try to make if it is really intent on going for it.

Yeah sorry, and you're spot on. 90s Thunderpimp and I had a great discussion on this last year after the Green Bay game in which Micah beat Traits Guyton at the snap countless times BUT was like a nano second from getting home all game long based off how Dak and Schott had specifically gameplanned for Micah. I never seen Dak get rid of the ball so quickly AND with positive results.

Its when Thunderpimp and I said the stat category of pressures should probably not be a stat at all based on IF the play succeeded in spite of a pressure.
So the pressure was irrelevant.

seems the opposite really. nobodies downplaying sacks, they’re just also recognizing pressures which YOURE downplaying.

imagine there are two baseball players. one guy hits 50 homers, he other hits 30, but another 50 to the warning track or off the wall.

both are clearly power hitters, but you shouldn’t / wouldn’t be surprised when player twos hr’s take a leap because the evidence was there

Since the pressure had no negative effect on the play's outcome it should not be given as a positive pressure to an individual player.

And the counter is IF
the pressure directly led to a throw away, loss yardage, fumble/int. then it could be categorized as a credible pressure.

The problem is the stats don't take it this far.

Knee thing was stupid. He needed to get scoped. Most players have that surgery multiple times.

Price might be lower now after the failed trade.

They said this before and it never happened. We have no idea. And there is nothing showing that it looks that way.

If anything the trades may be trading away a few players.
Bell, Schoonmaker, heck even Mingo or Liafau.
