Cowboys coaches reportedly raved about fourth-round QB Stephen McGee's "poise and accuracy" during rookie minicamp.

McGee was miscast as a spread option quarterback at Texas A&M but was said to be "stunningly refined" throughout minicamp. He could be ready to take over backup duties when Jon Kitna's contract expires after next season.

Yawn, what are they going to do? Trash their draft pick? :laugh2:

I hope he develops into a fine QB. I just wonder who we'll draft in 2012 with the draft pick we trade him for.

I kind of believe that the coaches are genuinely impressed with McGee because he impressed alot of scouts at the Senior Bowl, with how much further along he was a passer than they expected

I'll actually look foward to preseason this year as far as QB's go..it was torture watching BJ and the other dude..haha I can't even remember his name.

Amen.

Romo, Kitna, and McGee means there is always a QB in that's worth watching.

When you look at recent video of him, he looks good. Whether he can be a QB in the NFL is another story, though.

This is the first time in a long time that I have been comfortable with our QB situation as far as starter and backup.

I know nothing about Mcgee, so I'm interested in seeing him on the field.

true, but everyone was expecting him to be completely lost, and needed to be completely re-tooled

Hopefully, if he's good enough to trade, we just keep him.

THAT IS SO GREAT...we ROCK when it comes to evaluating QB talent!!!!! Think about how solid Brad Johnson was under the tutoring of Jason Garrett!!! THIS IS WONDERFUL news...(and before you start, remember Romlo was more of a favor to Sean P. as a "project")...this doesn't mean very much to me at least...

Fire away...

I see your point. But I don't think Brad could be a good quarterback in any head coach or quarterback coach's system. Kitna can i dunno... jog... so that right there has got to be an improvement. Besides, Kitna has also played in Detroit so he's used to the offensive line completely collapsing all around him. As for Romo being a Sean P. project... well he did had his best year statistically under JG.
