Stephen Paea at 40?

yeah, no

Love the player but a horrible fit at NT or DE for a 3-4 team.

I haven't seen anything that says he can't play NT in the 3-4. 6-1 303 is a little undersized but if he adds 10 pounds he's pretty much the prototype.

yet Ratliff is undersized at 6'4", 303?

Color me confused.

I have heard plenty of people say he is not a good fit for a 3-4 and just so this does not become another "sources" attack I'm speaking about accessed draft sites for all.

JMO, but I think Paea only being 6'1 gives him an advantage at NT over a guy like Ratliff who's 3 inches taller. Ratliff also plays undersized, Paea doesn't.

What about his game makes you believe he can't get it done in the 3-4?

Yes
Taylor at 40
Ellis at 71
Williams in the 4th
or Nield in the 5th

we can find a run stuffing NT in this draft.

Piea is a good play but isn't bug enough to be a effective 2 gap NT and isn't tall or long enough to be a 5 tech 3-4 DE. he is either a one gap or 3 tech DT.

Chris Neild DT West Virginia hope he can remain a sleeper his name seems to be bandied about lately " I would draft this kid in a heartbeat before I would draft the DT from Temple(Muhammad Wilkerson) and yet, in spite of the fact that Chris was invited to the Senior Bowl, no one talks about him." per Drew Boylhart the huddle report

The thing about Paea is that he is very developed for a College player already.

Besides, his talent, IMO, would be wasted in a 34 NT spot. He could be a star in a 43 3Tech position. I hope he goes to a 43 team.

I wonder sometimes about the small guys being undervalued at NT. Kelly Gregg does a nice job at 6'. Of course, he's 320 and a national wrestling champion. Also Ngata's nearby to help.

If Cowboys go OT at 9, then Paea or Austin at 40 would be the way to go. Stop hoping on potential or measurables, draft playmakers. Paea is playmaker & a high character guy.

And way stronger than the taller or fatter guys to boot.

Not the biggest fan of Paea. I think you waste his talents lining him up at nose in a traditional 34. Been saying for months this kid would be best suited at DT in a 43.

I think he can be a very good player especially if utilized in a rotation early on. He's still pretty raw IMO in terms of instincts.

Having said all that, with Ryan here, I think it opens up some scheme variety that could best utilize Paea's talents.
