I think that's the plan...rather than signing him long term....I think they are going to try and flip him for a late 1st or an early 2nd.It's unfortunate they did not learn from last year. They should also be looking for potential trade partners or we may end up with picks for next season again.
He should talk less.
The “we think the world of him. We want him here, etc”. Dude loves to hear himself talk.
Say less to the media during negotiations.
You'll be fooled, and you will like it.So he is not going to be signed before FA starts.
Then we have to hold $$28M and the Jones will use it as an excuse to not be active early in FA. Or they will be active and sign low level players like they did last year, thinking that was going to fool fans.
Is that a stat, Rock said those are for losers.Dumbest front office in professional sports
Agree 100%. In contract situations they should say nothing during any negotiations with any player other than “We’re working on it.” Period. He should talk less.

You mean next season when the draft is supposed to be loaded and not watered down like this year? It's unfortunate they did not learn from last year. They should also be looking for potential trade partners or we may end up with picks for next season again.
Then start looking for potential trade partners now, before FA and definitely before the draft.I think that's the plan...rather than signing him long term....I think they are going to try and flip him for a late 1st or an early 2nd.
Bottom line is he out performed what we want to pay, if we plan on fixing our defense. We think the world of him, but in no rush to actually sign him.
Im sure they are going to do their pre draft work to prime for things, but will also depend how the draft falls tooThen start looking for potential trade partners now, before FA and definitely before the draft.
What? Pickens needs to be traded before the draft. It has nothing to do with how the draft falls.Im sure they are going to do their pre draft work to prime for things, but will also depend how the draft falls too
Alec Pierce will sign before him, and JSN will sign before him, and Puka will sign before him, and then Pickens’ number will balloon. Just like Dez and just like Ceedee and just like Amari who all went down to the wire.So he is not going to be signed before FA starts.
