To be fair, job interviews are mainly about selling your ability to succeed so I am sure he did his research and used what he knows about the team to tell them things they wanted to hear.

I really don't care what they say publicly as long as the defense improves.
 
I’m assuming he really has a vision since word is out that 1 bad year and you can be fired. That’s a risk for a 34 year old up and comer with no previous history of playcalling to fall back on to take

I have no idea what these interviews are really like. I wonder how honest the candidates truly are about the personnel on the team, and for that matter the coaching they got the year before.

Good point. Nobody is gonna be honest. Being vague in generalized terms is what they all do. It's all hopium right now, and they sell it to the fans with the way they give their answers. I mean, I get it.

Imagine an executive candidate giving a presentation on how he can impact your company during an interview. I would think you would know if his expectations are realistic.
 
Good point. Nobody is gonna be honest. Being vague in generalized terms is what they all do.
Would you hire a candidate who could not present a clear and reasonable plan? Remember, there are likely 3-5 people in the interview.
