Stephen thinks Prescott is one of the best QB's

Above average NFL career.

Very good career would include very good playoff record. Not great...but...very good.

Dak has very good September stats. Very good garbage time stats. But Dak has below average playoff record. You average all that out, and it's just kind of a boring "good" that a million other QBs have experienced
Bad...good....great....doesnt really matter at this point. The real issue isnt what he has done, its what hes going to do moving forward, and odds are he will be trending down.

If Lamar is elite, so is Dak. 3-5 vs 2-5, but his 3-5 is more baffling given you can never blame Lamars organization and defense. And if you wanna blame Harbaugh, his worse is nowhere near as bad as the worst of McCarthy.

I was reading an article in local newspaper this morning on Cowboys are among NFL teams looking to end title drought.

The nut of the story was do any of these teams have a QB which can take them there.

Stephen was very outspoken. Even saying a great QB is how you win in this league. And said if Prescott isn’t the best, he’s one of the best and ultimate leader.

And have to continue trying to put the pieces around him adding I know our fans aren’t going to believe until we get the job done.

Of course we don’t believe. Few Cowboy fans believe Prescott is the best or one of the best QB’s in the league. Is he enough to build around, maybe .Doubtful at this point. But who believes our FO and coaching staff can get that done.
I don’t like the Joneses and I no longer support Dak. In this case, what is Stephen supposed to say? That our quarterback is bad during the playoffs? We need to look at replacing our starting quarterback that we just re-signed? Our QB has already hit his ceiling so just get used to it? The Jones know they will not win a Super Bowl this decade. With that being acknowledged, their focus is on making as much money as possible.

He damn sure paid him like one.

When Jerry speaks, I tend to half-heartedly tune in for entertainment purposes (example: him going off on radio hosts or publicly expressing that he doesn't know who Chris Godwin is the week before a playoff game at Tampa).

When Stephen speaks, he doesn't even get a millisecond of my attention.

A true no talent success story if there ever was one.
I can't wait for when Jerry is dead and everyone starts roasting Stephen

He is not a great leader anymore.

Now he is the ULTIMATE leader.

This is what happens when you are runnning out of superlatives because you have essentially nothing positive to say about a player: You embarrass yourself.

HERE WE GO!!!
Ironic. The only credit Dak ever got was being a "Great Locker Room Leader"

Remind me again, what's the Cowboys playoff record over the last 8 years?

You know the answer and I'm not bound by another's prejudice. Now, in the arbitrary number 8, how many years were the Cowboys in the playoffs?

All of the coaches have changed from those referenced time period as well. (coughing)

Hall of Fame coach Jimmy Johnson 'back in the fold' with Cowboys, Jerry Jones after Ring of Honor add

Just like the 1990's glory years, Jones is keeping Johnson as a close confidant once again

Good post.

I will support Dak Prescott completely, yet laugh at this front office until they start taking the QB position seriously and draft a talent to groom or bring in a young vet to get ready.

They drafted Dak in the fourth to prepare for Romo’s end of the road, though that came faster than expected. They have never done anything behind Dak as a real backup, and it won’t surprise me if they end up with no plan for Dak’s retirement or injury.

I am posting according to the original post that stated Stephen said "a great QB is how you win in this league." I was simply arguing he is wrong because Mahomes is a great QB. Hurts is not. Yet, the Eagles demolished the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Agreeing with Stephen means you think we can pay a QB tons of money and then maybe 1 or two other players and that makes us contenders. That is what Stephen is arguing I would argue, and I am arguing, you win by having the better roster. The Eagles defense stifled the Chiefs and Mahomes the entire game. That had nothing to do with Hurts. I am not saying the QB does not matter or he is not important. What I am saying is it takes more than a great QB to win a Super Bowl, AND that Hurts is not a great QB.
Fair enough.
History supports me fully.
Whenever anyone tries to downplay/ minimize the most important position on the field is when I will respond in kind.

It's what the other 31 General Managers are looking for.
It's the starting point to foundational success as historical stats support.

If you want to believe that QB is just another starter of the 22 you do that.

I will tell you that having a defense is secondary to elite quarterbacking regardless of this most recent SB in which I countered your argument with my opinion that Dak STILL would have lost.

Coaching and quarterbacking matters.
As a matter of fact they are items number 2 and 3 to overall NFL success. Right under number one.
General Managing.

The Dallas Cowboys are zero for 3 with all 3 above mentioned position holders as repeated failures at their jobs.
Get the Steel Curtain, Doomsday or 85 Bears... they ain't rescuing these 3 bums.
