Stephen: We put zero credence into people saying we wait too long to re-sign players

I've said it a million times. My boy who worked for the Cowboys, who has personally driven Stephen and his wife around Oxnard (and his wife back to Beverly Hills), has met Jerry and multiple other Jones members several times told me this: "dude, this team is run by a bunch of drunk rednecks that have no F'ing clue what they're going when it comes to actual football."
Everytime i see this tool I get the song from deliverance in my head.

I would agree, although most are just reiterating what they have seen/heard from ex-pros (as players and front office people) who have openly said JJ/Stephen's lack of strategy isn't a positive in re-signing their own players. And honestly, it's not a hard concept. A competent front office can forecast and make these decisions earlier than not vs what JJ/Stephen do. Now they have tried in the past to do a few major contracts early, but mainly when they thought it was going to benefit them and possibly get over on the player (majority injury based) vs beating the market (I guess Bland would be a good example though of beating the market on a smaller scale).
Then many fans are listening to different people because some fans favor waiting to see if players perform and/or improve before signing a player to an extension, and some favor signing with a year left on the contract to get a better rate. And, of course, the thoughts can vary from player to player. I don't think there is any one size fits all strategy

Exactly. It's just something to vent about.

Nothing is wrong with being a billionaire or wealthy. Kudos to anyone who is. Who am I to judge. But, what matters is this fact... money isn't the root of all evil but money DOES enhance who you as a human being, are ,at your core. Money changes not the person, nor your abilities , but it makes the good and bad shine bright when everyone is looking, watching, etc. This is Stevie and Palpatine.

What a buffoon! This guy is a clown and everybody else knows it but him. He thinks every word that comes out of his mouth is gold…NOT. This dude has zero credibility with me.

They put zero credence in anything most successful teams do. I guess they really are smarter than everyone.

This is right up there with putting "title drought" in air quotes.

To any fellow Cowboys fan that thinks the team will get better once Jerry reaches the afterlife, his spawn ensures matters will only get worse.

Thank goodness I was old enough to remember this team winning Super Bowls. Right now this franchise is a more nationally popular version of the Browns or Jaguars.

So he’s paying attention that we’ve all put it out there. Nobody should have to air this out for them. They get it.
