Stephen: We will be selectively aggressive

I think the big question is if Sanders fell to #12 would they take a chance? I don't it! They are just too stupid.

Selectively aggressive.......anyone wanna take a shot at what he means

I think he means they are planning to spend more ( than past ) but only on certain types of players.
I agree, more signings this year, but probably the same low level types.

Hopefully they target a couple starter quality player at certain positions then do that dumpster dive strategy to fill other holes.

Selectively aggressive is exactly what they need….if they do it.
Pinpoint 2-3 key positions and players in tier A that you want to talk to, guys who would come in immediately and start as impact players. Determine your ceiling on paying all 3. If you are able to sign one, great! If not, you move to tier B and work on guys who can fill roles for you, whether as part of the rotation or to compete for a starting role. You don’t need to sign stars as free agents, but you need to sign guys who make you better at positions of need.

I believe you must draft WR in the top 2 rounds, one, because the draft doesn’t have impact starters in depth, and two, because you want your playmakers on rookie contracts at this time. You want to draft RB and DT and CB as early as possible to get those guys on rookie contracts in a draft that allows you to get quality at these spots into rounds 4-5. I want OL in free agency if at all possible. It’s worth the money to bring a solid starting veteran into this young group instead of another rookie.

I would double dip at DT in this draft.

Well if the one selective aggressive choice goes beyond JUST signing Micah then I will be surprisingly pleased.
Seeing is believing.

Is that selective aggressive in bringing back Osi and a few others
Make it vague so you wont be wrong.

Yep.....I think ideally they are going to try to fill as many open starting positions as possible before the draft. I also think most if not all free offers will be to players with some connection to the coaching staff but it may cost a little more than what they have spent in the past.

I'm not relying upon Stephen to suddenly start making gutsy early decisions in free agency. He will likely be somewhat more aggressive in acquiring 2nd and 3rd tier guys and be especially proud of himself for having been "selectively more aggressive." Going from being very cautious to bold isn't really in his ballpark, unless I'm just missing my selective guess.

What makes you think these things will happen.
