Cooks also led the league in red zone touchdowns from within 10 yards though.
And Gilmore stepped up big time to start for the cowboys and did very well. Plenty of cash to pay him if they wanted. But like I told Carson maybe a young kid steps up for the slot but if not then diggs, bland, Gilmore would rock.

The problem is Cowboys have holes and corner isn’t it. Cooks is our second best receiver. Gilmore would be a luxury but not at 10 million.

Gilmore is in an excellent spot to wait it out. He's not likely to get $10 million but he's also not going to come back to Dallas for only $3 million. Every year, players go down in training camp and get lost for the year or miss significant time. I hope it doesn't happen to us, but some team's CB will likely suffer a serious ACL injury or Achilles tear within the first two or three weeks of training camp. At that point he will be on the short list of players getting that phone call, and that team will be more receptive to paying Gilmore somewhere close to what he wants.

Surprised someone hasn’t signed him. He didn’t have a bad season for us. He’s going to have to lower his price.

It's a blessing that our current roster is so stacked that Gilly has no home here.

I'm starting to get pretty stoked when I look at the current roster.

I hope they can find out what's going on with Diggs soon enough for this guy to be still available just in case. I don't trust the Diggs recovery yet. But let's see what's going on in TC.

And that is where we disagree.

Diggs coming off injury might be 60-80% of his pre injury play at best. Bland is awesome but then we have average at best in the slot. Not a fan of lewis at all, average at best but all and easily outmatched vs good offenses. So yes I worry about their starting 3 CB's and let's hope they never need a 4th on the field.

He did get 8 TDs and average 12.2 YPC. Not bad for a #3
No he's not bad at all. And Gilmore would be the #3 CB at worst. Might be better than diggs coming off injury we don't know cause diggs ain't even ready yet.

Well you also have Eric Scott who you traded up for two years ago and you have Cason this year who you took in the 3rd round. Then there's Israel who you moved back to corner and Nashon Wright who you thought was a 3rd round corner.

At the end of the day you have guys in place who should be able to spell Diggs if he can't go.

Meanwhile you don't have a nose tackle, your linebackers aren't very good, you don't have a running back...you dont' know what you have on the offensive line......i'm just saying if I have miminal funds corner isn't what i'd spend those minimal funds on just because Gilmore is a name. Because last I checked Gilmore was out there against Green Bay wasn't he? I like Gilly for the vet minimum.....

If Diggs struggles he's gonna just have to struggle. They aren't benching him. We know Lewis is our nickel corner. Bland is coming off a great year playing corner....I don't think Bland's ceiling in this league is a nickel corner. Seems like Gilmore would be more of a progress stopper if anything.

Scott and Carson are unproven. Maybe one is ok but neither better than Gilmore.

Israel and wright just aren't good enough for extended play as a 3rd starter.

So you're telling me you'd invest in Gilmore over all the other actual holes we have?

Agreed, I have diggs as an outside starter struggles and all. Bland can start outside, move inside when Gilmore comes on. If you put Scott or Carson inside if either can play inside I think they get exposed badly. So basically bland will shut most down outside simply because diggs and whomever is inside might be too weak not to attack. Couples this with a suspect run defense and better hope this offer we never struggles to pass protect.

I think Bland is more important against outside receivers. I guess its dependent on matchup. But if i'm playing Philly I need Bland guarding Devonta and Diggs on AJ Brown. If i'm playing the 49ers I need.....well I guess depends on who suits up but if Aiyuk is still there I need Diggs and Bland on Aiyuk and Deebo.

I have no issue with Gilly but I want to shore up this run defense before I spend money on another corner.

We all want the run d fixed. Mazi is basically the only hope there now. They did draft another guy late 6th or 7th, if Mazi stinks maybe he can just hold up double teams like Hayden used too.

Or even offensive linemen. There are some guys out there who can come right in and start for us at other positions.
