In my other thread, a couple people were talking about wanting a WR with a little more speed/burst. Not a very tall receiver, around 5-10, but is shifty and is projected to run around a 4.4. The most obvious comparison with his open field shiftiness and straight line speed will be Steve Smith. If we go into the draft looking for a deep threat, this will probably be our guy. I'd like to see the kind of vertical he has at the combine, from the videos I've seen, he's a good route runner as well.

The more I'm looking into this kid, the more he's becoming my pet cat. I kinda hate having those going into the draft since it leaves me slightly disappointed when we don't draft them, but he looks NFL ready.

Cowboys typically like the bigger taller heavier WR's. But they never seem to get one with burner speed. We also have the smaller Wr's in Beasley and Whitehead. Whitehead has the quickness and speed, but not sure if 4.4 speed, can't remember.
I doubt they go with a smaller WR again, unless they are looking if he can be the returner to compete.

And he would be 5th or 6th on the depth chart. At that point I would rather they look at Braxton Miller to develop. For multiple reasons I posted several times in other threads.
6-2-, 215, runs a 4.4 also, can play multiple positions, WR, could get in some plays at RB / wild cat. Can take over the Dunbar type plays, and even be a threat to pass the ball. He has been working as a returner in the senior bowl practices too.

I've been talking about him here for a while now. I think he's exactly what we need. Last year my pet cat was Tyler Lockett. This year sterling is my guy, real playmaker, great route runner, great player. His dad played for us also. He's not a total burner or anything but has enough speed and always seems to be open, like Lockett. Sadly, I think other teams are going to see his potential also and, like Lockett, grab him in the late second or early third. Not sure he will be around at the four pick of round three but he's worth that pick and he'd put TW on the bench quickly where he belongs.

Another option for the Boys in the later rounds could be Demarcus Ayers WR out of the University of Houston. He is 5'11 195 lbs. and runs in the low 4.3's. He is a tough little guy with much wiggle and is a dynamic on punt and kick off retuns too. But as the guys said, the Cowboys like bigger and slow receivers. Why? It is beyond my knowledge!:-(

Im a fan. Not only just him deep threat but I think he would a good inside/outside WR. I think he will be an outstanding RAC guy in the NFL in slot as well as deep threat. I think him better then Fuller

While this is true, there have been a couple exceptions to the bigger WR rule in Harris and Danny Coale

Those guys were limited and not the same type of athlete that Ayers is. He should test great at the combine and is much faster than Coale and the other guy. He will be a dynamic slot guy and could play outside! He is a true 4.3 guy! He will probably go in the 4th or 5th round after exploding at the combine. :)

Id take Ayers with a 4th rounder. Looks more impressive than Harris. I dont know if he'll be as good as Harris as tackler though.

Not surprised you were the one to go with the school argument.

I hate the argument myself and even thought about it before I typed it but it really does apply to OU.

I'll take a linemen or RB from OU but their passing game players are usually busts.
