I agree with Dennis on his theory as to why the Special Teams did not play well. They were not ready to run full speed down the freaking field at full speed and hit someone. Wade even admitted this today at his presser.

John Garrett? Is Read even running the special teams? Hmmm.

Nate always seem happy go lucky.

If this truly is the case, perhaps Wade should change certain aspects of his practice philosophy, and increase the speed and contact level of his sessions.

I'm certainly not one of these macho BS types. I don't believe that great teams must be forged in sweltering 100 degree heat, and that coaches must exact the most draconian punishments for the slightest infractions.

But the effectiveness of a practice can only be judged by its in-game results.

In fairness, I wouldn't kill my team just so they could cover kicks well in the first preseason game. As long as they cover when it matters - and isn't that what preseason games are for?

Will be interesting to see how our ST plays next Saturday. There better be some major improvement or Jerry will probably go off.
