After seeing the Quincy carter thread ..,figured I'd throw my comparison out there.
Although Dak and Quincy couldn't be further apart as qbs and people I can see the corraltion to how the offenses ran or looked during the tenures of both players for diff reasons.

However,

If you recall Steve McNair while having a dynamic college career at a small school, coming into the league had trouble pushing the ball downfield with accuracy and was a "bus driver" for the first few years of his career.. but what he had was toughness and leadership skills...that ended up landing him in the Super Bowl and have quite a few great seasons...
Hopefully Dak can follow those footsteps but that has always been my comparison since he was coming out of college. Time will tell...

That is actually a pretty fair comparison. Mcnair also had Eddie George as well. A bit worried that Zeke will end up getting worn out and run to the ground... Same like Eddie George. Decent comparison

Carter was pretty decent once Parcells took over and actually connected on some deep passes. He was an idiot which was the bigger problem.

I truly believe and if you go back to all the TC reports in Romo's rookie year it may be seen.

But if not for Carter failing a drug test, and hence was released. I truly believe Romo was the odd man out at QB, as they had too many in TC at the time. And one needed to go.

I know many will disagree, but no one had any idea about Tony at the time, until the PS games actually started. Then we seen. hey this kid may have a little something. But in hindsight only we were lucky Carter failed that drug test.

Dak isnt as good of a runner as Mcnair was. Furthermore, I dont think Dak will ever be as good of a passer as Mcnair was either and Mcnair was not a top tier precision passer like the true talents of the NFL are. Mcnair, like Dak needed the gimicky offense to create big passing windows because he didnt have the true accuracy and timing to throw receivers open like a Rogers or Brees can. Draft Grier this offseason and kiss Dak goodbye after next year. Best and most prudent coarse of action.

Dak is more McNabb than any other QB now that Ive seen him a few years. Better than average thrower; better than average runner. Not elite at either but can beat you with both. Prefers to throw but when they have to run its usually a good thing. Dak seems to be a little more clutch than McNabb is the difference and of course no Andy Reid.

Steve McNair was an elite pro prospect. Dak wasn’t. McNair was more accurate than Dak but also struggled with pocket presence.

I've said this several times past month.
