Stewart or Warren at 12?

I’d take Burch before I’d take Stewart!
I’d take anyone of the top 3 DTs before I took Stewart!
At 12 Stewart is a Taco debacle just waiting to happen again!
At the very least, Taco had 18.5 sacks in his college career. 9.5 sacks and 13 TFLs as a senior. Taco progressively got better in his college career.

Stewart Stewart has 4.5 sacks and 12 TFLs in his career. His stats have only barely improved marginally since he was a freshman.

Stewart is 100% projection based on size and athleticism. This team cannot afford to blow a first round pick on a developmental prospect who hasn’t done anything in college.

Some team with a great roster needs to take Stewart and hopefully coach him up. Dallas is not that team. We need someone who can either immediately make plays on defense, or score TDs on offense. This team is too thin to spend a high first round pick on some project that screams boom or bust.

I’m going on my weekly Cowboyszone rant.

When someone asks “would you rather have x or y player in the NFL draft?” You should say which of those players you’d prefer and why.

Saying “neither” or “trade down!!!” or “trade up!!!” does not add to the discussion, nor does it answer the question.

I think many of us here are rooting for a trade down. To get back a 3rd or even a 2nd hopefully. I’m rooting for a trade down.

But that doesn’t answer the question.

That’s it. That’s the rant.

@DallasEast you’re free to bench me for 5 minutes while I cool down and eat my Yellowstone TV show branded microwaveable dinner.

Right.
Honestly I can’t see the logic in taking any strong side DE at 12. That’s a position you can fill in late 20s through the 2nd if you’re targeting a potential top 5 at the position!

The draft is pretty deep at this particular position, it's true.

Give me Warren all day.

BPA

I like Stewart, but Warren is immediate impact and gives offense instant boost. Not to mention, you have a TE for the next 10 years.

He helps the run game too and instantly upgrades Lamb as a player.

I know this thread is only a choice of a vs. b, but outside of this exercise, the thing about both players is that this is a really deep draft at both positions. I'd rather skip Warren in round 1 and get Mason Taylor in 2, for example, or Landon Jackson in rd 2 instead of Stewart in 1.

Considering Ferg was turning into a borderline pro bowl caliber TE with Dak under center In going Stewart.

Who has a better chance of being an impact player? You take that player, right? I'm pretty sure that's Warren. I just want the least chance of wasting that pick.

Between those two, I go for the position of need and take Stewart. I’d trade down for him though.

Overall, though, I’m getting more and more convinced that our first rounder should be a corner. Jahdae Barron, for me - and again, with a trade down. We need quality and extra picks.

I like Johnson, but the injury record concerns me.
