You can tell me that our Pro-Bowl QB, OC, WR, & several other players are all out. You can tell me that the Cowboys have nothing to play for, and that the Deadskins are fighting for their playoff lives. You can also tell me that the 'Skins are tired of us kicking thier a**** over the last several years.
You can tell all that & more, & it wouldn't mean a freaking thing! How in the world can we go 3 Quarters & still have negative rushing yardage? How can one of the best rushers in football only need 19 yds. to reach a thousand for the season, and he ends the game with 6 yds. less than he came in with??!
On & on it goes.
This team is woefully low on backup OLs, WRs, and QBs. Did we really let the Panthers pick up QB Matt Moore on waivers in the off-season? He sure would have looked better than Brad Johnson & Tony Romo today. OK, I'll get off of that kick.
We do, however, need to get our offensive backups up to par, or draft new & better ones. We are also in need of a penetrating NT who can also stuff the run, and a shut down corner who can learn on the job just in time to take over for A. Henry.
However, my biggest concern is heart. This team needs a transplant--quick! Where was the heart today? I don't care what the playoff implications are. There were thousands of middle-working class people who mostly paid much more than they could afford. They deserved to be entertained by a hard fought professional football game, not watch their evil nemesis drag themselves in & go through the motions.
Wade Phillips needs to bring in former Bills backup TE Kevin Everett to the next practice to show them just how lucky these players are. To even be alive & walking each day is a miracle to Everett. Cowboys players need to plant it in the heads, (and especially HEARTS!), that they are the luckiest creatures on this planet. To be playing the game you love & be making thousands, if not millions of dollars to do so is a blessing indeed.
I pray they all get that message before the next game, somehow. As much as I dispise the NE Patriots, at least they get it right. They know that each game could be their last, and they sure play that way, too.
