Still think Sean Payton would have been the right coach

I haven't seen Denver this year, and from what Ive read the success they've had this year turning things around from an awful start is because of their D. So I would think the DC would deserve a lot of credit for that mostly.
Russ has also been playing way better, his TDs and int numbers have been near the top of the league this year.

Garbage in NE just took the Broncos out of the playoff picture . Please no more ancient retreads . Until Houston lost Stroud that first yr coach had the Texans in the hunt . Or the guy in Cleveland SF LA Minn ….think outside the box Jerry for a young HC who innovates wins .

They are on NFL staffs or in college .

Moot point MM is set to get an extension .

Yes but you need someone who jerry can respect and is not a yes man . But you could be right about a young assistant out there being the best way forward. Seems MM has no new ideas and his message may become very stale if it is another one and out playoff scenario .

A coach that just lost to the Patriots at home because he gave them 2 timeouts in their game winning drive.
Yes it was the wrong move but no one expected Zappe to make such an incredible throw . sean is rebuilding the team ground up . Broncos were terrible last year.

Just think if we lost to the Patriots.

I wouldn't want him. In fact, if I were the Comish, I would have kicked him out of the league for his role in placing bounties on players. The only coach I dislike more is Buddy Ryan, whom I also would have kicked out of the league for the same reason.

Payton is a good coach but we’d still see the same issues here. Payton wouldn’t have been an upgrade to where we are now. Sorry

Although Denver improved as the season went on they’re still 7-8. Don’t know why fans keep bringing up Sean Payton. McCarthy’s Super Bowl win was more recent than Payton’s

McCarthy and Payton have virtually identical records.

Payton might be better situationally, but he hasn’t accomplished anything McCarthy hasn’t.

Many others? We are one of the best teams in the league. We could end up with the 2nd best record and be the 2.
You will be right if we get to the SB or CCG . Otherwise it is 4 years of good record and no success in the playoffs . depends what you define success ,

A difference maker who can make the hard decisions and build a SB caliber team . Just look at the rebuild he is engineering at Denver . McCarthy has had 4 years wirh mediocre results and no CCG or SB . Not sure who Jerry would go for now .
But Payton yells at his QB. That would never do in Dallas. Dak is not emotionally fit to be yelled at.

Belly has had ultimate control power in NE that he most certainly will not have in Dallas with the Jones.

And despite all that power and control, he has been more on the losing end ever since Brady departed.

The all time most winningest SB head coach in NFL history, and there's heavy talk about he could be moving on from
his dynasty team.

His drafts have been hideous, all kind of difficulties drafting WRs, and QB Mac Jones has been regressing rapidly
instead of progressing.

Mac Jones is not a QB you can go far with .

What decent coach would want to come to Dallas knowing how Jerry operates.
Other than Jimmy Johnson, the Cowboys have hired head coaches willing to bend to the will of Jerry Jones and have been undermined to some extent.
This franchise has experienced decades of mediocrity and it’s not like there has been a lack of talent in recent years…look at Detroit, they hired Dan Campbell, with no HC experience and he has turned the franchise around within what…3 years? And with less talent than the Cowboys. They are a tough, hard-nosed team and make no excuses when they lose…never hear their players bemoaning the officiating.
This team needs a tough, no BS head coach; a disciplinarian who commands respect and holds players accountable…only then will the Cowboys reach their potential, but Jerry’s massive ego will not allow this so history is doomed to repeat itself.
