Still think we don't need a lottery?

Last year, I posted the NFL needs a lottery system and some of you though that was a ridiculous idea. Do you still think that after the circus we have seen this year? Still think it's a coincidence there are so many subpar teams this year. It seems that teams that started the season weak pretty much gave up and tried to tank games for the Reggie Bush/Matt Lienart sweepstakes. You know my opinion on this. I think we absolutely need a lottery. Anyone who thinks one player can't influence a team's success is mistaken. Even if you think Bush is overrated, you can't argue that the first pick could yield in several picks for a trade so it is valuable either way. Furthermore, I don't think the team that finishes with the worst record is necessarily the worst team in the NFL and is most deserving of the highest pick.

you know, it is not a bad idea. It would make things much more interesting, but it would also pose problems with the rich getting richer. I would also not like the idea of the league tampering with the lotto and possibly setting it up for certain teams to get that first pick and a certain player....like the NBA has been accused of doing.

Lottery is a bad thing. The worst team should get first pick. period. If they screw it up they are not picking the right players and other teams still have a shot at them. Good teams that hit a slump will use the rare #1 pick for that rare player that will return them to the promise land.
