Still wish we had gotten Vinatieri?

Not me.

Just read this over at Draftsharks... granted, it's speculation, but things don't look great for Captain Clutch. Guess I'm happy to have the Drunk Idiot afterall.

Vinatieri not expected to play
Colts K Adam Vinatieri (groin) is not expected to play per Sirius NFL Radio. We're wondering if Vinatieri has a tear and might be shut down. Martin Gramatica would be a major free-agent steal.

Would he have injured himself the same way if he came here?

Nobody knows.

And that is a good point to bring up when someone says that they are glad we did not sign another player AFTER they have an injury.

Would Big Ben wrecked on his Motorcyle if he was on a completely different team in a different city?

Nobody knows.

that's exactly what i've been saying, he wouldv'e been in a different place and time if he signed w/ us, thus he wouldn't be injured

With Keith Davis on the team, his chance of catching a stray bullet would have went up exponentially....

I understand that point of view... but a non-contact injury like this (groin, hammy, etc) may be a different story. Couldn't you make the argument that he may have developed some inherent weakness in that area that made this injury inevitable? Due to conditioning or just wearing down, etc?

I could see saying something like what you and DeWare are arguing for Kearse's injury or Portis' injury, since they are related to a specific incident that may not have ever happened under different circumstances... but I don't know if a jacked-up groin counts the same.

I want to make sure you understand I was not lumping you in that category of posters. I DID notice your "not me" line.

With that out of the way.

Sure it could be due to conditioning or exercise.

But who is to say that if he was here with our teams Strength Coach (joe) that he would have had the same problems?

Just so many variables.

Now if he had an existing condition that nobody knew about than that could be different.

But as I said...nobody really knows.

I just take some relief in the fact that even though many here (myself certainly included) were very upset about Vandy missing some kicks in pre-season... things could be much worse, i.e. an even more expensive kicker possibly being done for the year.

Now excuse me, I gotta go find some wood to knock on! :eekmouse:

He's going out of his way to miss the point.
just cause he got hurt in indy doesn't mean he would have gotten hurt here. plus that would have been 1 less problem

I agree.

Do you think that the Pats and Adam knew something about his health before he left?
