What are your thoughts on the season outlook for our Running Backs and Receivers?

Feel free to rate them separately or together - stock up, or stock down! Also, who do you think in each of these groups makes the Final 53, or impresses in camp?

Have at it, Zoners!

RB
Lance Dunbar - Stock Up - Hearing good things in camp
Felix Jones - Push - He's going to be the second RB
DeMarco Murray - Stock Up - Hear he's been catching a lot of balls
Darrell Scott - Stock Down - Numbers game.
Phillip Tanner - Push - #3 spot is his to lose.

FB
Lawrence Vickers - Stock Up - Only FB that will make the roster.
Jamize Olawale - Stock Down - Who?
Shaun Chapas - Push - Back to the PS.

WR
Miles Austin - Stock Down - Only in relation to being surpassed by Dez, obviously still a star.
Cole Beasley - Stock Up - Doing well in camp so far.
Tim Benford - Push - I actually think he's got a chance to beat out Beasley or Coale for that final WR spot.
Dez Bryant - Stock Up - Monster.
Danny Coale - Stock Down - Broken foot has held him back.
Saalim Hakim - Stock Down - He won't make any ground up till he sees live fire.
Dwayne Harris - Push - Earning his way on special teams so far.
Andre Holmes - Stock Up - One of our few WR's outside of Dez and Miles with size.
Donavon Kemp - Stock Down - Who?
Kevin Ogletree - Stock Down - Still inconsistent.
Raymond Radway - Stock Down - Going to need more time to recover.

The only thing I'd change in your list is maybe Stock Up on Harris, with the buzz that he's made a nice leap since last year. Maybe a push on Miles, assuming he's going to be healthier and in better shape than last year. Other than that, I'm with you on everyone.

Nice job, Count.

What about as a group? Receivers have to be down at this point with the loss of Robinson and Marty. Backs even at this point to maybe a little up Vickers over Fiametta.

I've liked what I've heard about Tanner. He's bigger and stronger and was reported to look quick in OTAs. He also got looks at being the personal protector (showing that coaches are impressed with his blocking) for the punt coverage team. How cool would that be too have a RB as punt protector? 4th and 1 all of a sudden is a possible fake punt since it would be difficult for a punt cover team to stop him in that situation.

Blue - Makes the 53 man roster.

WR
Dez Bryant – Up. Healthy, full offseason with the team.
Miles Austin – Up. Healthy.
Kevin Ogletree – Up slightly. It’s 3rd WR spot or bust due to lack of ST ability.
Andre Holmes – Up. Very good reports by owner, coaches, media, other players.
Danny Coale – Push. Despite broken foot, still a high probability to make the team.
Dwayne Harris – Up. Reports indicate that he looks quicker.

Raymond Radway – Down. Not 100% recovered from injury.
Cole Beasley – Up.
Tim Benford – Unknown.
Saalim Hakim – Unknown.
Donavon Kemp – Unknown.

RB
DeMarco Murray – Up. Healthy.
Felix Jones – Push.
Phillip Tanner – Push.

Lance Dunbar – Up.
Darrell Scott – Unknown.

FB
Lawrence Vickers – Way UP. Appears to be a leader.

Shaun Chapas – Unknown.
Jamize Olawale – Unknown.
Isaiah Greenhouse – Unknown.

Since stock up or stock down is in relation to last year, I'm not sure how rookies factor unless we're comparing the group as a whole vs this year and last year.

Also, anything other than a stock up for Miles Austin vs last year would mean a disaster since missed half the season. A stock up for Austin would take about 700 yards and 8 TDs. Am I wrong?

RBs - This one really depends on their health, and I say that because health has been somewhat of a concern with these guys. If Murray and Jones can stay healthy for most of the season, then I'll say stock up...way up, but if the group suffers more nagging or season ending injuries, then it's going to be another year like last year. As for FB, well, from what I've heard, Vickers is the guy...a blocking machine, so there you go.

So I'm going stock up...keeping the positive health vibes out there.

WRs - Same health issue here, really, but mostly due to Austin. I think Bryant is going to have a gigantic year (draft him early in fantasy, people) and not miss much, if any, time. Miles, though...we'll see. But if he stays healthy too, again, the stock on this group is going to be WAY, WAY up. I know we lost Robinson, but let's be real here. If Austin and Bryant are healthy all year, I doubt you're going to miss Robinson, and I think Coale, when he gets healthy, is going to surprise some people.

Not sure if we're counting TEs here, but if so, Witten brings the average up by default. When is the last time he missed playing time with an injury? When was the last time he had an off year? Answer: he doesn't have off years.

I'm predicting stock up with these guys.

If Dez has the year I think he's going to have all the WRs and Witten are going to have big years because of all the single coverage they are going to get. Austin will become the Alvin Harper (a better version of course) deep threat/big play guy.

very nice job

The only question that I have is I wonder if we go long at RB again if we're afraid to lose our guy.

Added Tight Ends

Blue = 53-man roster

Red = Practice Squad at best
Underline = starter

RB

Lance Dunbar - Stock Up - You see a lot of good press on this guy and he is a local player which makes him good for PR; if he and Tanner are the same, I look for him to beat out Tanner for the 3rd RB spot
Felix Jones - Push - 2nd RB in a contract year; excited to see him catch some passes
DeMarco Murray - Stock (way) Up - He seems to be motivated to do well and so far has been making his cuts so there doesn't seem to be any fear with him with his ankle
Darrell Scott - Stock Down - Has done well, but 5th best at most; thus, he isn't going to be on the 53-man roster
Phillip Tanner - Push - I haven't seen him progress (or regress) based on what you read. I think that Dunbar looks more exciting - both make the 53-man team

FB
Lawrence Vickers - Stock Up - Only FB that will make the roster, and I think he will do very well. Some of his quotes are terrific, especially when he talks about knowing EVERYONE's role on a play, not just his own. Love that,
Jamize Olawale - Push - I can't go up or down on someone that is a PS guy at best
Shaun Chapas - Push - Practice Squad at best

WR
Miles Austin - Stock Down - Only in relation to being surpassed by Dez, obviously still a star.
Cole Beasley - Stock (Seriously) Up - He has out-played the others so far and is pushing, along with Holmes, for the 3rd spot; a pleasant surprise
Tim Benford - Stock (slightly) Up - I think he's got a chance to make the team; he was conference player of the year last year, so he can play.
Dez Bryant - Stock Up - Beast. He is likely the true #1 WR if he stays healthy. All reports show him making acrobatic catches in camp so at least he is putting out max effort.
Danny Coale - Push - Can't go up or down until I see him play. But, I am excited to see him in a few weeks. I hope that he can get in a groove with TOny and win that 3rd WR spot
Saalim Hakim - Stock Down - He won't make any ground up till he sees live fire.
Dwayne Harris - Push - Has a shot to make the team; he is a tweener in that regard to me.
Andre Holmes - Stock Up - Huge size and has impressed so far. He could win the 3rd WR spot and move Miles to the slot.
Donavon Kemp - Stock Down/non-existent - I can't seem to get past "Shawn Kemp" of basketball fame. Haven't heard anything that could show that this guy makes the team.
Kevin Ogletree - Stock Down - I see him NOT on the roster once final cuts come. He offers no ST help which hurts his chances of making the team.
Raymond Radway - Stock Down - Remember when this guy was going to make the team LAST year? Needs to be healthy.

TE
James Hanna - Push - Man, you would LOVE to see this kid make the team and be a receiving threat. He almost makes the team via default since there are no others now that Bryan was cut.
John Nalbone - push - can't say up or down as he hasn't been here. He looks to get cut.
John Phillips - Stock Down - He has had ample chances to win the 2nd TE spot and can't seem to get over the hump. Lucky for him, we have no others options to beat him out.
Jason Witten - Stock Up/Push - still one of the game's best. He is the obvious starter but the "push" status is just because it's tough to move up from being one of the best. He leadership (moreso lately) makes me say that his stock is getting even higher

As units:

RB/FB - Stock up - Murray looks to be healthy; Jones in a contract year, Dunbar with a change of pace here and there. Not to mention having a legit FB to block for them. Good times.

WR - Stock Up - Just having Dez ready to break out makes this unit better. If they can stay healthy, they can be a lethal unit. If Holmes, Coale or someone else can solidify that 3rd WR spot, then look out!

TE - Stock Down - Witten is very good, albeit getting a little older; If Hanna can hang on to the ball, he could be a pass catcher for the team. Phillips is an unknown factor and you would think the team would KNOW what they are going to get from him.

I said My surprise cut could be Felix Jones if the young guys step up

So Murray Tanner and the new guy may cost Felix his job since he has not stayed healthy one season despite receiving limited carries. I could see dallas cutting him or trading him if they are comfortable with the young guys. Training camp and preseason will answer those questions

Probably every single position group on the team is going to be stock up this year. Maybe not punter if McBriar doesn't come back, but that's about it.

No excuses for not winning pretty big this year.
