I'll be rooting for Miami in that game against the Jets. In fact I'll be rooting against the Jets in almost all of their games, I'm that annoyed by the whole Favre story.

you'd expect that to be the case, seeing that McCown has thrown over 1000 passes in his career and had stuck in the league for 6 years.

Beck had some nice preseason action last year but really it is not reasonable to expect a guy who, in his 2nd year, is learning a 2nd offensive system to be tearing it up.

It wasn't my impression that the performance gap was limited to drills that emphasize recognition and/or learning the offense. What I got from the reports is that Beck flat out hasn't looked good.

... he had enough talent to be well regarded coming out of college, of course, but his current level of regard, in Miami anyway, doesn't seem to be very high.

I saw Beck last year when the Dolphins just threw him out there and he could barely take the snap. I think you have work those QB's from shotgun based spread offenses for 2-3 years in fundamentals before they're even ready to compete for playing time.
