Bob Stoops

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops issued a statement today in response to questions he has received pertaining to other coaching vacancies.

“To end speculation here in the heart of recruiting I want to make it clear that I am not interested in any other coaching positions at this time. I am too excited about our future at Oklahoma and the program we’re continuing to build.”

Stoops just completed his eighth season. He owns an overall mark of 86-19 and four Big 12 Championships, including the 2006 league crown.

He is so gone.... :D

Good for him. What a classy dude!!

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops isn't interested in the Cowboys coaching job.

It's uncertain if he was a candidate, but Stoops opted for a pre-emptive strike. "To end speculation here in the heart of recruiting I want to make it clear that I am not interested in any other coaching positions at this time," Stoops said.

I give the Boise State coach the credit for that win. He and his players are my National Champion. Screw the BCS.

This is great news, Stoops was real hot 3 years ago, but his best bet is to stay in Norman.

I agree with you Hostile, I think Stoops is a great college coach. However, I just dont like the idea of college to pro, look at the percentages and you will see almost all fail at the next level, Jimmy Johnson excluded.

We need an NFL coach to pick up where Tuna left off.
