No...right now the Cowboys are an above average team with below average coaching.
right on! Talent-wise, I'd say we're well into the top half of the league. We have very good players and very good depth at most positions. I feel like our only weak player positions are FS, K, and C. LB is moderate.
Most teams would love to have as many quality players as we have. Most teams would win more games with our talent.
Wash sure doesn't have near our talent, yet they're 3-0 despite a garbage offense.
I think given the talent we have, most of us just don't expect to lose to some of the worst teams in the league or have to come from behind in the 4th to beat other worst teams in the league. When a team's talent outweighs its success, the problem is obviously coaching. The last several years, we were a bad team because we didn't have much talent, the coachign wasn't great either. We have talent this year. No excuses for Zimmer or Payton. They are....the weakest link....
and I'm tired of people saying..."but the teams we have played were good." BS! All NFL teams are somewhat "good." They're in the NFL! Relative to reality though....
San Diego was good but they were without Gates. Wash is garbage. San Fran is the worst team in football. Oakland is only slightly better than San Fran and i assure you that just about all the teams left on our schedule are better than what we've played so far. So if we keep losing and making the excuse that the other team is good, who's left for us to beat? no one, and that's just who we'll beat if the coaching on d and the playcalling on offense doesn't get better. say what you want, but we're grossly underachieving right now and that's almost always the coaches' fault.
