OK, Jerra, I respect that restraining order but I still have to yell at yew to not go whole-hog in FA.

You know what ah means Jerra. The long in the tooth veteran who thinks he's worth 3 times what the market bears.
The big name that sets your heart a-flutterin', ya big lug.

But, Jerra, let's enact a rule. Please.

Let the rule be that, in free agency, you can NEVER GO AFTER A GUY WHO IS IN HIS 30S.

It always turns out bad, Jerra.

Invest in the draft and build with it.
Suplement it with youthful, up and coming players in FA who will fill roles and not break the bank.
With Ware on board, that kind of economizing is essentatial. And valuable.

Ah feel your pain, Jerra. You want to be loved and respected as a football guy. We git it.

But, Jerra, please, remember the rule in FA: No one in his 30s.
It will pay off in the long run.

Lol, that makes me laugh, because the magnitude of 30 plus year old busts, imo, came under the "watchful" eye of Bill Parcells. The Richie Andersons, the Terry Glenns, the Keyshawn Johnsons, the Vinnys, the Drews- should I go on? We were a graveyard for old battleships during his time here.

TO is the one recent NFL elder men of Jerry's that he personally brought in. And the numbers he puts up regularly, have little room to thrill me more, honestly. So i don't know what you're talking about.

Now. Sign Ray Lewis and don't let anybody else even get a chance.

I'm not againt guys over 30 if the price is right. My problem is contracts like Flo received, a six-year deal worth more than $43 million – $15 million guaranteed for a guy coming 33? Then there's TO's 27 million with 13 up front for a 34 year old guy. That has to stop and is exactly why i think Jerry has gone all Al as of late.

With age and "big name" automatically come a big contract. It goes without saying.

Yer right. I was mostly focusing on the money aspect. but, too, anytime a player hits the big 3-0 in the NFL that is like being an elder. Basketball and baseball are different animals, of course, but in the NFL, a 30-year-old is usually on the descent, unlike draftees who are always on the ascent.

I'm all for signing Ray Lewis, as a motivator/linebacker. Half of his salary counts against the cap, the other doesn't. Sound good?
