Yes, he's too old to be such a fool and give away games in the 4th quarter.

Remember Parcells' opinion of Romo. .. Gunslinger and hated giving him the starting job.

Yeah Tony makes some birdies on the 16th and 17th greens but it always lips out on the 18th. And always will.

Bingo.

The age breakdown on SB winners ages 33-35 is this:

33 - 5
34 - 3 (2 of the first 4, but only 1 since then.)
35 - 1 (Staubach)

Some people think It wouldn't surprise me if TR is better at 36 than most qbs are at 36. But he's not the first qb to play sparingly in his first few years. There's basically Staubach is the only example where that led to a late championship. And he was the best qb of his era.

Either you missed the point or are just committed to ignoring it.

Brees won a Super Bowl in his eighth season as starter. Manning won his in his ninth. Montana added his last two in his ninth and 10th. And the list goes on.

There's a difference between being a 32-year-old quarterback who has started 10 seasons and one who's started 6 1/2.
Forget Super Bowls, maybe by the time Romo is 35, he'll win his second playoff game.

It's possible, especially if Dallas doesn't put a decent offensive line around him. The only one he had that was playing well was when Dallas went 13-3, then it was picked apart by the Giants defense.

But I know you were being snarky since that's just you when it comes to Romo.

It really is amazing to watch the extent that some people will go through to sway things in their favor.

As some have mentioned on here the amount of time spent as the starting QB has nothing to do with longevity in the NFL. Age catches up with everyone. I would almost buy into the OP's way of thinking if Romo was a freak of nature and had the work ethic of say a Herschel Walker. We all know that's not the case.

The most amazing thing pertaining to Romo's age is the fact that he hasn't learned how to manage a football game. He continues to make the big mistakes even at the age of 32. I know if I was as inconsistent as Romo is in my current job my would have been fired a long time ago. Yes the Oline is an issue we all know this. But even when Romo had a line he found a way to screw things up.

Romo's choices and decisions on and off the field are what make so many of us skeptical. He is the only one that can prove us wrong. It is up to him to live up to his contract. We will soon find out if he is the real deal or just a Hollywood QB.

LOL... do you just make things up in your head and try them out first or do you just type anything that comes to mind? Precisely what screw up did Romo accomplish when he "had a line"?

Maybe this will help you remember. Romo was only sacked twice and our defense only gave up 230 total yards. Int with 9 seconds left. Check it out for yourself Kazuya.

Give me a break, that's not a "screwup". If you are trying to win the game and time is running out, then yes, your season is going to end on either a touchdown, incompletion, or interception. What do you want him to do, run out of bounds? The lengths some of you guys go to in order to stick it to Romo is ridiculous.

For the record an Interception is no longer a failure, screwup or anything deragotory as long as Tony Romo is involved. Thanks for the clarification, :lmao2:

I fully remember that game. The INT in the end zone came on 4th down, on a last minute desperation pass. I also remember Patrick Crayton dropping a pass that hit in in the hands when he was wide open the play before.

That certainly was not one of the better games in his career, but lets not act like he choked the game away.

Let me save you some time when reading the board. Romo single handedly wins games all games, however, in the event of a loss, it's always the team.

If he throws a pick, it's on the receiver, a gust of wind, or most likely a horrible call from the bench. This is especially true if it happens to be back to back pick sixes.

If the ball sails over the receivers head, the WR ran the route to shallow, or too slowly. If he throws a shuttle pass to a "defender", it's because the defender was out of position and should not have been in the way, the nerve.

There you go:laugh1:

There are 4 types of individuals that claim Romo choked or screwed up royally on this 4th and forever, final play of the 2007 season Giants playoff game in with single digits remaining on the clock.

1. Fans of other teams that hate anything Cowboys.

2. Mediots trying to scratch out any type self conceived relevance, regardless of how idiotic they portray themselves (after all they stirred the pot and got noticed).

3. Dallas fans that clutch to this "particular play" to somehow build a case to justify their anti-Romo position.

4. People who, bless their little hearts, know absolutely nothing about football.

Unfortunately, these are not mutually exclusive categories. Many have worn 2, and unbelievably 3 of these dunce caps simultaneously.

Well, just so you know there were 7 other drives (opportunities) for Romo and this team to put up points. You must be one of those guys who blamed the Field Goal snapper when Romo fumbled against Seattle. Or maybe you are one of those guys who blames all of Romo's short falls on field conditions, weather, slick balls, wrong cleats, girlfriend in the stands. Sheesh I could go on an on.

The one thing that is constant with our Qb is his ability to make the big play for the other team when it matters most..especially in BIG games. He definitely does enough to give us hope. But thats about it.
