Yes, wanting better coaching in here is rooting for mediocrity. So we root for mediocrity.

Jerry might have to tank eventually whether he wants to or not!
You can only kick these contracts down the road for so long.
It comes the time when you have to eventually pay the piper!
I agree with some of what you’ve said but Tech & Business hasn’t killed the Cowboys, it’s the incompetence & the who gives a damn Jones’ who have destroyed a once great franchise! Without Jimmy Johnson in the 90’s, the Jones’ wouldn’t have won 1 SB let alone 3.on the tanking talk.
Its not going to happen.
JJ loves it mediocre ok, he doesnt need high end players all the time, every season, just a few to keep selling jerseys.
And what is the thrill of all this? Do some posters actually believe the glory days are coming back? They arent, the game has changed, the league has changed.
If you want a new conspiracy to follow, consider they want to give each team their time of being winners. Thats way more complex than Dallas returning to old glory days.
Its over, accept it.
Feel free to talk amongst yourselves about it and lets see why posters are clinging to this horrid idea.
Ps, please also accept the Combine is dead or talent is dropping. The combine is not a science.
PPS, also accept, JJ doesnt care about the fan. Those days are over. Time, tech and business have killed it. The league doesnt want it, never did. The regular fan wont be on the sidelines with cameras on them.
I sure as heck would! The Jones’ Cowboy’s are where players go to die!Yeah, I've seen a lot of 'Tank for Manning' chatter.
The Mannings are a family of winners. What makes anybody think they would want their son to play for the Dallas Mediocres? Even if Dallas had the 1st pick, I could see him holding out like Eli did to go to NY.
Wasn’t there just a report recently that said they wanted Arch to play in Dallas?Yeah, I've seen a lot of 'Tank for Manning' chatter.

I think “tanking” is going to happen but not by choice. Dak is an aging QB coming off of a major non contact injury. Dak wasn’t playing well when healthy last year with the exception of the last drive of the Steelers game. Our line is suspect, our defensive line is worse and secondary is in trouble. If Jerry and DNA don’t flip the contracts around and create 100 million in cap room and sign players then we seriously could play our best ball and beat the Giants and maybe 1 or 2 more. History says Jerry won’t pay anybody this offseason besides Micah.Jerry might have to tank eventually whether he wants to or not!

Yes, his dad said that he wants him to play in Dallas. If I find the clip on YouTube I’ll post it. But it would be pretty easy to find just type in Manning to Dallas and it’ll come up. We all know what Grandpa Manning wants Grandpa Manning gets.Wasn’t there just a report recently that said they wanted Arch to play in Dallas?
The TANK wont happen due to the perpetual search for relevancy which gives us a varying degree's of mediocrity. Not trading for Henry at the 2023 deadline (which in effect was a Jerry ALL-IN) Jerry's need for relevancy. Its not the cap that will tank this team. It's a lack of talent. It's the unwillingness to go out and pay free agents or hire premier coaches. Its not a spending problem, it's a lack of spending problem.

The annoyance was that after GB game, we came to a fork in the road and re-establish a strategy to move forward:
1) Continue ALL-IN with what you've got (plus FA spending
2) Break it down.
we took option 3)
3) Allow your depth strength to go: Fowler, Armstrong, Gilmore, Biadascz, Tyron, Hankins .....but dont trade away players that would of brought something back ...J-Lew, Osa, Martin, DLaw(?).... and of course extending Dak which meant it restructured CAP into 2025 (a year we could be improving), which ever side of the Dak argument, it would of been better to pay-off the CAP hit in 2024 and start again with a low 2025 hit.
There wont be a Tank, but it'll be interesting to see how invested Jerry will be in 2025.
Jimmy Johnson was there to explain it to Jerry.Oh, IDK, I guess you missed the early 90's when we tanked and won 3 super bowls. So, you would've kept Walker?
I used to believe Jerry wanted to win, but only by HIS way. I no longer believe that. His actions over the years prove he doesn't care. It took him five minutes after the Green Bay debacle to talk about how much he loved everyone. Then he did zero in FA, knowing we would be a worse team. Then he crippled the team for years with Duck. Then he is willing to let McCarthy just come right back. Now he just says, whatever coach we've already got. Not even at least Moore, who he LOVED as a Garrett clone. I knew 2024 was lost at the start of FA. I know 2025 is lost even before the season is over.Do they want to win? They know what it takes and refuse to do it. So, I'd say they don't care about winning. The only way in which they care at all about winning is self love, that's it.
Exactly. The tanking theory is complete nonsense. You don't tank by first signing a guy like Dak to that contract. You just don't. We'd already be free of Dak right now had the plan been to tank. He would have played out the year, and been allowed to walk.
The tank is happening as we speak. The TANK wont happen due to the perpetual search for relevancy which gives us a varying degree's of mediocrity. Not trading for Henry at the 2023 deadline (which in effect was a Jerry ALL-IN) Jerry's need for relevancy.

That is truly what it looks like.I used to believe Jerry wanted to win, but only by HIS way. I no longer believe that. His actions over the years prove he doesn't care. Jerry and Cap Boy do not care. If anything, I'd say they are intent on destroying the franchise before they sell it.
Yeah and I saw Archie backpedaled on that pretty quickly. Something about he "was being nice to a patron" at his bar.Wasn’t there just a report recently that said they wanted Arch to play in Dallas?
