@stasheroo Since you are talking about run defense - which I think is the X-factor this season - I wanted to throw this out there: I think the signing of Covington will have a big impact for the run defense.
I can see them using him & Woods together on early downs & short yardage situations.
Provided we don't get schemed out of our shoes again, I think the run defense could be really good. They had huge moments last year but need more consistency.
Having another squatty DT besides Woods should be a huge help IMO.
I don't know about Covington, but I'm intrigued with Hill a bunch. Covington may be a sleeper IMOI agree, and I'm eager to see what Covington might bring to the mix. Between he and Trysten Hill, I can't fault the team for ignoring defensive tackle. Now we just have to hope that they've identified and eliminated this tells!

Agreed about the tells.
I actually like how they addressed the DT position this year.
While I'm not sure what to expect from Hill as a rookie, I certainly like what he has the potential to become.

Baffles me how someone can make that comment. I don't think most people think before they speak. Never mind put it in writing so it comes back on them.Funny how it has been said here that running the ball has no impact on winning yet the inability to stop the run does. lol
You just said, one of the most important things I've read. It's about the scheme as much as it is the player. And I can't comprehend how many people don't get that. It's always about the scheme The Game Plan as much as the talent.I agree. Covington may be another guy that was playing in the 'wrong scheme'.
