This quote really bothered me from Jerry. And it’s even worse that some media and fans are buying it.I’m not saying Micah was a great run defender at times…. But to act like he was the problem is nuts.

Mazi smith was drafted in 2023. We’ve had time since then to address the run. We haven’t done a good job. For the GM to all of a sudden to say “stopping the run” is a priority is an insult.

Where was the priority in the 24 and 25 drafts? Yes we got Clark but that’s only cause Micah forced a trade.

I don't think he was saying Parsons was bad against the run as much as he was trying to (over) hype the player they got in return who can help do that in the middle where they have been really bad for several years.

Clark should help upgrade the unit, but I'm not ready to say we are well tooled to stop the run just yet. It'll be interesting to see how the LB snaps end up. Murray has been among the worst in football against the run since entering the league. His value really seems to be in coverage. Sanborn we know can play, but is also going to be a limited down player as hes shown to be a liability in coverage as well. I think our best bet against the run is seeing Liufau take the next step forward.

I don’t think Jerry is blaming Micah for the run defense they have sucked collectively for years. Although teams have figured out how to somewhat neutralize Micah’s strengths by running at him

I think Jerry is doing Clark PR more than anything.Jerry could have been more concerned about DT position in previous drafts but has ignored it

I’m actually interested to see how the other guys are going to step up and fill the void
